172 not starting!!

hi can anyone help, my 172 wont start its turning over but not firing up and the plugs are dry??, i have replaced the battery as i havent run it 4 6 months but it was started every couple of weeks. it was running fine before i left it and now it wont go atall!! would it be fuel pump?? :S

Check the usuals.

Tried jump starting it?

Fuel? Spark? Compression?

You should be able to hear the fuel pump prime itself. Lay under the car and get someone to turn the key. You should hear it wake up.

Spark- Take a plug out and test it. Easy enough.

Compression tester required if you get this far.

changed all plugs, tain fuel pump out it seems to be working fine but no fuel getting through as the plugs are totally dry will try compression test thanks
