172 Cup track toy

Right then.
This is my first ever clio cup, I'm a vw man at heart but after experience they are just to heavy under power and expensive to repair.
So after doing some research for possible track toys the clio was the one for me.
So after looking at a couple of cars which weren't for me I was offered this one at the right price.
I'm planning on going through it with a fine tooth comb as I'm very fussy and some of the modifications by previous owner are shall I say interesting :poo:

I've already stripped out dodgy seat mounts and cut any unseassery brackets ready for interior to be painted.

But before that I'm doing full belt and dephaser change and new discs pads and fluid change.
Then off to paint.
Then
new seats
electrical kill
Plumbed in fire extinguisher
Battery relocation
Remove stella can oil catch tank
Short shifter
New belts

Overall car good clean base to start from
Wish me luck

Checkout Mark Blacks thread he's doing same thing currently and progress looks good.. might bounce ideas off each other.

Small update

Car is now at my mechanics to have cam belt de phaser and water pump change.
Plus if they get time full brake change.

Then off to the body shop for interior paint

Well clio still at the garage obviously

But finally the golf has been collected having the garage empty means if been able to put some new flooring down and give it a good clean.
Plus finally able to update build board and the list is long lol

Still waiting for garage to work on the car as I did drop it off spur of the moment.

So my ebay "good condition" :poo: Rear bumper arrived to replace the butcherd one currently on the car.
So after a good few hours and a little spit and polish it's respectable enough to fit to the car.

At last a decent update.

The cambelt and new de phaser, water pump, full discs, pads and brake change has been done

So my paint guy is collecting car for me so finally we can get custom mounts in for the seats and get the interior painted.

Now the fun stuff can begin 🔨:spanner::nut::up:

Today finally we had a good days work on the car.
Got rid of previous owners "catch tank" with proper samco hose.
And fitted the seat mounts and putting seat in position I can acctualy fit in the car
So now it's up to my painter to get the interior painted

Changed rear bumper over but not got pics of new one on as it was dark at the time.
Rear studs back in after brake change.
Areo catches installed.
And best of all PMS shifter kit installed and what a great bit of kit.

Looks sweet mate, can't beat a stripped out interior. I found over £13 in loose change under the carpets and sound deadening in mine! Any weight saved helps

Right been busy I've mounted the new race battery and got the dash mocked up with new gauges and kill switch and fire extinguisher pull.
Now it's all stripped down and has been sent off to be flocked.

It's been a while scince a update but a lot has been done if run the main power cable for battery relocation, got the dash back from flocking and mounted the lower section ready for raw motorsport to do final connections and get gauges working.
Also fitted drivers side foot plate as I didn't like grip tape.
And mounted external pulls for kill switch and fire extingisher and fitted gauge sensors.

Good progress today.
Dash finally back in now that raw motorsport have wired kill switch and oil temp and preasure gauges.
Also made some door cards today to tidy everything up. It has also really helped keep noise down abit.
