Thats renault stealer costs mate. i got mine done at rentech portsmouth (renaultsport specialist) for 600 odd incl major service.

weird as hell,
why would one local renault dealers say £850++
and then someone elses renault do it for £500!

Wow, this is the only thing putting me off getting one lol,
just test drove a 182 and it is a real nice car. Much nicer than my Saxo VTS,
however the cambelt costs £180 to change on that from a dealers :)

you'll probably find:

a)you were quoted for the FULL MAJOR service including cambelt change
or
b) the sales bloke didnt have a clue what he was talking about

in my experience, it would be B

local jippo garage offered to do mine for 350 quid. But i didnt trust anyone other than a renault specialist. Renault garage would charge 1k so i went on a 300 mile round trip to rentech. They charge much less for a cambelt and they do give excellent service mate.

Ah, well the £50 of fuel it'd cost for me to do a return journey beats paying Renault 1k.

M8 - the trip to RenTech would definitely be worth it. Kent is a LOT closer to them than Lancashire is!!!

I went there for the 24k service on my 182. Mike and his guys clearly know the Reno range inside out.

As said that's Renault prices.

Go to a specialist and expect to pay £500 for the belt change with full cam kit and major service.

Mine was £800.00 at Rentech :dapprove: (including major service) Did include new front pads though. Much better than going to Renault though!

  clio sport cup 172
had my waterpump, cam belt, aux belt, new type d coolant, all done for £100 labour plus the price of the parts

I'm not looking forward to getting my cambelt done... 2004 Clio with 33.5k miles on the clock. I may take it to Rentech if I can't find any cheaper...

  porsche 944 - 80's ftw!
Mine cost the price of the cam locking tools (which i let my mechanic m8 keep afterwards) and the cambelt + aux belts kit.

Cant remember off the top of my head but around £100 ish.
