Hi everyone, my 05 clio 182 60k is having trouble starting, it starts but occasionally it dies instantly. To add to this recently the engine has cut out whilst driving a number of times, I have noticed this to happen when braking and engaging the clutch the revs just drop and the engine cuts...
Cheers everyone for the help, cleaned and soaked gauze and shortened the pick up tube as it was too long and the nozzle was sitting flat at the bottom of the bottle. Trying it out tomorrow and if that doesn't work autobrite is about a mile up the road and I'll pick up one of their lances.
Not very old at all, used it about 5 or 6 times over 3 months. I have tried 4 different foams, AB magifoam and Superfoam, iron x snow soap and a cheap demonshine snow foam.
No it's not the chemical bottle that come with the pressure washer, I have experimented with the + and - settings and...
I have a nilfisk C125.3-8 pressure washer which is stated as having a 520L/hour flow rate. Also using an inch of AB magifoam topped up with warm water to just under half of the 1L bottle and the resulting foam is pretty useless, majority of it running off within seconds down the road and...
I know this has been covered before however I haven't seen the valeo fast road clutch mentioned, would that be worth the extra £30 over the standard valeo clutch?
Also what are people's thoughts on lightened and balanced flywheels? Worth it or not?
Any help would be great
Well in the case of the bump stops in the pic above then I do have them fitted.
Really was counting on them being missing as Im still no closer to finding out why I've been through 2 sets of front shocks now in 7 months.
Right ok stupid question time, bump stops and dust covers are different?
Dust cover, covers the top half of the shocker
Bump stop covers the piston underneath the dust cover?
Im not talking about squeaking or knocking, the shocks are squelching when going over speedbumps and other bumps in the road. Also just checked and the garage didn't refit the bump stops back in April when I first had new shocks.
So could the fact that there is no bump stops be causing the...
Whole front suspension and steering is brand new, pure top mounts with brace and poweflex bushes all over the front. As for bump stops I'll have to check and report back
Had cooksport springs fitted in April along with new shocks all round, now on my 2nd set of front cup shocks and they are beginning to fail, squelching when going over bumps in the road is unbearable.
Anybody else experienced this with cooksport or sportline springs?
I've had this problem for months, must have been on and off the car atleast 40 times trying to solve it, tightened up at different levels and always knocks no matter how tight the bolts are.
As far as I can tell the face is flat, nothing obviously wrong.
It only knocks when driving over a...
The knocking noise follows the alloy wheel, if its on the front the knock happens at the front and then moves to the back if I put the alloy on the back.
Alloys are 2118s, and I just can't figure out why its doing this as they are only about 6 months old and I always avoid potholes so they...
Had this for months now, when rocking the steering left to right only 5 - 10% past centre each side Im hearing and feeling a knock/clunking through both footwells.
I've replaced all with new parts, tie rod ends, ball joints, top mounts and now new steering arms and its still there.
Also...
Cheers both of you, explains why the ones the garage were trying to fit today were too short.
Fred - remember I bought my clio down 27th Sept with the suspension and steering knock and you replaced my bump stops cause they had been cut in half? Fixed the suspension knock, but still got the...
Glad I had them all done to be honest, rod ends and ball joints were both shot and the car feels so much tighter now plus I had new discs and pads at the same time which were desperate.
If the pure top mounts dont solve it then I will ask fred to check it over
No its normal at speed, only happens when stationary or rolling slowly.
Having pure motorsport top mount and strut brace kit delivered tomorrow and hoping to have it fitted soon as possible.
Already replaced rod ends and ball joints on both sides and it hasn't fixed it. If I fix it I'll post...
So I have fitted new track rod ends and new lower ball joints on both sides and the steering knock is still there.
Really frustrating me now as I can't locate where the knock is coming from.
Now going to be replacing the top mounts to see if that solves it.
Had the spacers off today and the problem is still there, got some new track rod ends coming next week. If they fail to fix it then its ball joints next. If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.
Will update how I get on.
Update on this, car has been in a garage today and they can't find anything wrong.
Its definitely a steering knock, when resting my hand on top of both front wheels and my dad wiggling the steering wheel both wheels knock. Also when wiggling the steering wheel and sitting in the car the knock...
It has been fine on the spacers for over 4 weeks now, until I crunched the passenger side front down a pothole sunday night whilst turning right and the spacer came loose, had to limp the car home 10 miles with a loose wheel which was knocking very loudly.
Thought this might have damaged something.
