Never bought or sold a car on ebay before. Is it likely to fetch more then on autotrader?
I certainly could see myself getting that much more braking it to make it worth my while...
How much is my silver 172 worth? I'm looking to sell at the end of the month after I get it MOT'd to start saving for the next project.
53 plate, 125K miles (mostly motorway), cup alloys, splitter, re-map, panel filter, cams, ported inlet manifold, BTB full exhaust, interchangeable de-cat pipe...
Well I have had it looked at by the local garage and all that they could find wrong with it was the N/S outer CV joint was bone dry and the gaitor was loose. They have packed it with grease and secured the gaitor.
Does this sound like something which would cause the problems in my original...
Thanks Cook,
Yeh I am also resigned to the fact it is most likely a driveshaft. The hard acceleration to cause it the first hint, and the fact it's done 110K miles! Having it looked at this afternoon so will update after that.
Morning all,
I'm experiencing a strange problem with my 172. Last night I put my foot down for a few seconds through 2nd and 3rd gears, shortly after I noticed that the steering wheel was wobbling and pulling to the left slightly :S It almost feels at though there is a bulge in the tread of one...
Have a strange apparent electrical fault that came about yesterday on my drive home. Having stopped for some petrol I set off again to see the 'SERV' service light had come on. I then very quickly noticed that the A/C climate control console had also stopped working. No display working and none...
It's not what he said, it's the way he (and many others on here) think they have the right to control what others talk about. It's quite annoying. They should get a life TBH
lol prat!
OP posted about his Mrs car
Car in question is 4 years old (corroded top mount obv. not acceptable!)
OP wondered if possible to save his Mrs some money
OP accepted the fate after the first couple of replies
OP owns a 172 so knows the cost of motoring
Apologies must go out to the...
Was a bit dangerous to drive the car to Renault with a broken spring and the car vering to one side...!! If they wont pay for the spring I'll leave the broken one for them to dispose of! They can have the 3 year old corroded shock too lol
I asked if they tried heating it - they said no as you can't heat something if it's surrounded by rubber....
Didn't ask what else they used as I assumed they would have tried everything
If it was my 172 I'd definitely do both (had to do it to the rears a few years back) but seeing as it's my Mrs' 1.2 we probably won't bother going to that expense.
Would anyone know if a broken spring would be covered under Renault's extended 1 year warranty on 2nd hand cars?
Thanks
I reluctantly thought as much, thanks for the quick confirmation.
I will probably do the otherside myself in the next month or two.
Does anyone know if you need spring compressors when doing the springs / shocks on a 1.2?? I didn't need them when doing the springs on my 172...
My Mrs took her 1.2 2007 Clio in to her local garage as the front o/s spring had snapped. She goes to pick it up at the end of the day and is told, oh it also needs a new shock - won't be ready untill tomorrow. She wasn't told any more info then that.
I thought this was a little strange on a...
Bing101, thanks for the suggestion. I did try swaping the lamda sensors but I could not for the life of me unplug the front lamda! The plug was too tucked away and I couldn't get enough purchase on it while on my back under the car. Extremely frustrating!!
Something else funny has happened...
....at least I think it's a misfire! I'm after some help / advice to diagnose please :)
Car is a 53 plate 172, done 100K miles with FSH.
I've owned the car since 2006 on 36K and it was totally standard, but even when I first got it, I noticed that it never had a smooth idle. I later read...
Hi, the challenge is as follows:
A Kenwood head unit is fitted to a 2007 Clio
A remote steering control adaptor is required for the stalk control to work...
What is the part needed and where is the cheapest place to get it?!??
Prize to the winner to follow :)
