adrian flux........ good cover and cheap for the younger generation (even better once your older) and IIRC they are one of the only companies that will cover body mods and engine mods on the same policy (most will do one or the other....)

best option is to buy a sanding block (each side is different gradient) to start it off, then work from rough to smoothest..... once thats done smooth with dry "wet n dry", followed by wet "wet n dry"...... then add...
well its sand paper, but of a very fine gradient, so it doesnt leave reough marks..... basically, you can use it to get a smooth finish on a pain/primer or lacquer finish, but then you can wet it to get an even smoother finish!
took me all of half an hour to do my engine cover including...
ive just re-done mine mate.... although its the 1.6 engine
all i used on mine was normal car spray, but to get a good finish you MUST do several layers of primer, then wet n dry it, then same with paint, then laquer , finishing with a good wax finisher.....

i got one on my 1.6 rsi from renault, they now do the dog bone mount and an upgrade kit to, its basically a strengthening bar that extends the existing mount and fixes to the 2 front underside bolts on the gear box
it basically stops the front of the engine twisting back under acceleration...
i have the same issue!
you need a voltage supresser on the alternator.... easy fix mate :)
good motor factors will sell em, maybe even get one from halfrauds....
when you say sport, you mean the twin bulb style? (side and full beam in 1 lense, headlight in other)
