**small update**
Went and bought some more steering fluid and took out the (what I would call) filter and the table as basically empty. Filled up and it hasn’t made the noise since so putting it down too that.
Car has had a small leak since I’ve owned it (was aware when I bought it) but is...
Thanks ?? Will get some fluid tomoro (presume from Halfords?) top it up and see what that does.
The leak theory does make sense as it’s is dropping fluid. Isn’t a lot but is making sense with current problem. Previous owner thought it was oil but level was changing. Been meaning to get it...
I know! Just searching and found similar sounding problem and that’s what someone suggested.
Know nothing about mechanics/engines! Plus Clio’s are new to me so struggling. Going with what in my head is the “logical” answer and hoping it’s right
Had the car 1 month and up until Thursday it has never made that noise before.
Just had a look under the bonnet and trying to work out where it’s coming from and appears to be from here...
Noticed the last few days a whining/whiring noise when turning the wheel. Also can hear faintly in background when accelerating/slowing down.
Seems worse when cold/first thing in morning.
Have a video taken a short while ago stationery in car park turning wheel from left to right lock and back...
I’ll have a look in a few days - got my old car (1.6 focus) which still driving at the moment. The previous owner has messaged me within last half hour about it too.
Ideally wanted a RB Clio! Love the colour. Bought some black Turinis yesterday as well as a cup spoiler

Ahh ok! Been told it was an old members on here! Glad to put a name too it!
Yeah it starts squeaking after a good drive when it’s warm. Presuming the Allen keys don’t need a lot of adjustment?
Bought a set of Turinis today but didn’t come with wheel bolts.
Will the bolts off the standard 182 wheels be ok?
Also, anyone recommend any decent locking wheel nuts?
Bought this the other day and thinking of getting some eBay ‘RS 182’ stickers. Unsure on what colour though, plus don’t want it to look chavvy!
Hopefully picking up a set of black turini’s tomorrow. Thinking about painting the calipers yellow and wondering if yellow stickers would be too much...
Bought a 182 on Wednesday and currently enjoying driving something again with some noise and a bit of power!
Got stuck in some solid traffic on Friday night at the black wall tunnel (pretty much stationary for a while) and noticed whenever I moved the gear stick it started squeaking and was...
Yeah, they where very easy to drive, proper lift steering compared to the 182.
Car has already got a remap already so should have the increase Rev limiter. No issues with the get up and go with it....just getting used to it. Finding the steering wheel sits a bit high for my liking. Dropped it...
Yeah. Goes pretty well. Used to have a Mk4 Ibiza Cupra (around 230bhp). Is completely different to drive. The power in the Cupra was a lot lower (around 2500-3000rpm) whereas this is seems to be around 5000rpm (can feel the power band kick in) so got to get used to giving it some more gas!
Thanks for the welcome guys
This is what the advert has said it has had done:
Remapped using RS tuner - 98 RON map
Fatty Induction Kit with Ramair filter
Cup dampers around with Eibach sportline springs
Powerflex bushes to: engine upper, gearbox lower, steering rack and exhaust
Yanoo Stiff...
Evening all!
Just recently got home from picking this up from a forum member. Believe the car has been owned by other forum members too. Lovely little car. Hoping to do a few bits and pieces to it and take it on the occasional track days and car shows
