Let me know how you get on, that is what I'm looking at now.

Keeping the Fanatec pedals and wait for it....... will order the load cell pedal from them if it works out financially a better deal
Crazy idea mace, but order another one with a credit card, get it, take the pedals, and then claim the new one arrived sans pedals and you want a refund.

Or are they having trouble with orders still?

  Clio
Did you do a buy? Saw this ended this evening.
Got cold feet. Maybe its just Fanatec fear but the one that ended last night....

But then also has this one for sell that he put on a few days ago.

Then his feedback although 100% was 2 from the same person.

Thought why would you have teo 5nm DDs?

Probably nothing but there you go.

Than that leads us down to these....

Take the DD you mean?

I don't know if I trust being able to get a refund or anything from them. I won't give up on getting the current DD from them and then probably sell on the full kit and make some money back.

I'm starting to think, cut my losses go Moza, take myself out of Fanatec all together.

I am after an ultrawidescreen.

There are 5.7million to chose from. Anyone actually using one and can recommend? Id like whatever the 4K width equivalent is but realise I am limited to 1440p vertical.

It can vary considerably depending on budget. The Samsung Odyssey G9 is great with its 5120x1440p resolution at 240Hz (49 inch) but you'll need a top end GPU to drive it if you value high-fidelity graphics in your sims.

I have a 3090 oveeclocked to 11 and water cooled.

I note that Samsung have a 20% off offer at the moment too.

I currently have a HP G2 VR but find I get knackered quickly with VR.

If the g9 is the bees knees , what’s the next one down?

IIRC the Alienware AW3423DWF was supposed to be the pick if you want something a bit smaller.

I keep looking at these new generation OLED ultrawides ever since I got an OLED TV for my XBox, they just look sooooo good.

Are they that much better than a 4k panel?

I’m more thinking of the difference OLED makes compared to LED, the contrast and blacks are so good. I think micro/nano LED is supposed to get close but not quite there. My current monitor was a very good one at the time (ROG Strix XG35VQ) but compared to the 42” TV on the Xbox it’s nowhere.

I am a OLED convert for the main house TV. I am a little paranoid about using OLED as a desktop , however pixel shift is softening the blow.

I’ve run an OLED as a monitor for years 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just don’t have stuff always in the same place/sat there forever and use the dimming features for when you forget. No sign of any burn in yet.

Not sure if we have progress but my UPS claim.

1710266613180.png

It is now not showing from today so maybe things are moving.

I have no idea why after 196 days I'm still getting my hopes up.

Will give it another week and then contact UPS and Fanatec.

No luck with getting any money back. Natwest said contact PayPal, gave up trying to speak to someone at PayPal.

Hopefully something happens soon for you..

Completely different but I ordered some jumpers in January, they arrived on time but didn't fit.. I sent them back for an exchange to a smaller size but they were out of stock so I got a refund.

Had a message from Evri today saying my parcel is with them for delivery so looks like I'm getting some free jumpers!

Cancelled the Moza R9 preorder.

Going for the R12 instead. Apparently doesn’t suffer the same overheating issue that some R9s have had, obviously has more peak torque but also has better detail throughout. Will still go with the ES wheel though.

Been looking at Fantec DDs on eBay, Bidding is mad, was in for £200 on a 2 year old scratched up 5nm on the weekend, went for £221 in the end.

Day 202 and nothing back from Fanatec yet. Starting to think they'll just hope I go away. Not giving up though. They've also moderated any threads I post on their forum and they don't get approved it looks like.

Might look into the twitter thing and just spam the s**t out of anything with Fanatec tagged in.

Start here.

Matey’s sat on the sofa claiming all the issues with UK orders are now sorted….

Following on from this, I reached out to your man Kireth whose channel it is, didn't expect much or even a response but he got back to me within 24 hours.

He has a follow up with Fanatec in the works regarding the ongoing issues and has said he'll add it to his list of other grievances for when he meets.

That’s great news!

Still waiting for my Moza 😂

Did you order direct from Moza or a retailer?

I'm starting to think R12 over R9 now as its only another £150.

I'm also just a case and a GPU away from the PC being ready to be built which is nice.

Still think it won't be much before the end of summer before I'm setup and ready to go, that would make it over a year since I decided to give it a go lol.

Overclockers UK. Moza direct wanted £130 in postage! To be fair, the actual steering wheel is on preorder but I’m expecting the base soon.

A lot of people say that 20+nm is a waste of money and that 12-15 is about right, so I think the R12 is the one to go for, if you’re willing to spend the extra.

Phoned OCUK to find out what was happening with the wheel. The base was in stock but the wheel was on preorder. Turns out they won't ship the base before the wheel comes in as it's all one order, and because I reordered, I went to the back of the preorder list for the wheel so have to wait for the next shipment, which will be mid next month now.

Well after about two hours of cocking about I got the Moza installed and cable managed etc.

Time to get in game. And f**k me, this thing has some power. Did about ten straight laps in a 992 GT3 car and it was a proper workout, but there’s so much feeling it’s unreal. The wheel reacts super fast and it makes catching slides a lot, well, not easier, because it’s proper ripping your arms off, but you have a much better chance of catching it. Obviously detail is much better but I really need to dial it in before I can comment on it. Quality is spot in and whilst it gets a little warm after half an hour or so it’s not got hot yet. Will go do an hour at Le Mans to test it though.

Very happy so far!

Just did 20 odd laps at Le Mans in the R8. Full strength. The wheel base hit 52.5 degrees

Pretty hot, but it seemed to be handling things fine, I didn't notice the force feedback dropping off or anything. Considering the fact that I was hanging off the thing through the Porsche curves I'm quite impressed tbh. Put it this way, I think you'd give up before the wheel does.
Impressive set up mate!
Thanks! I need to clean up the underside a bit as the wheel cable was just too short to get to the USB hub so I have this massive goofy cable, and it needs a good dusting under there, but it is all tidyng up reasonably nice. I did have a few coasters under the G27's table clamp, which acted as a nice little table for my phone to charge on/cup of coffee/whatever but there's no table clamps on the Moza so will need to fabricobble something I think.

I'm jealous.

Looks superb. I've settled on the R12 I think. Should be ready for Christmas..... 2027 at this rate.

I'm assuming with the size of your place that's in your livingroom? Do you just move it around or have another TV! :ROFLMAO:

It’s in the living room, but I’ve got everything on one plug and one USB cable, unplug that and it’s on PTFE sliders so slides off to the back corner of the room when it’s not in use.

Picked up a sliding pedal mount for £40 in a sale recently, it's made such a difference to have easy fine adjustment on the pedal position.

Definitely ready for a wheel upgrade now. It's still so, so much better than a controller but I've got to the point where I want some detailed feedback over and above "this is a bumpy bit", "you're going round a corner" and "you're having a crash" :ROFLMAO:

Get used to the dust mate - these things seems to absorb the bloody stuff.

I've got a duster permanently in my room for that reason only.

He clearly built a great product/brand in the beginning but he's obviously not capable of running a company at scale so guess this needed to happen.
Hopefully his successor will work to rebuild trust in the brand.
