Currently have 3,486 photos on my phone 🙈 need to cut down.

You guys use Google Photos? At least everything's backed up there for free if I do delete stuff off.

Google photos is a godsend for clearing clutter.

It just backs up every night when it's on charge and I do a clear once a month or so.

Must take a few charges for the battery so work itself out. Was at 100% last night. Have always on display on during the night as my clock and battery was at 88% this morning.

Used the phone as a sat nav for 2 hours and a little bit of web browsing. Now at 46%.

Mines did also. What does the battery stats say? What's eating the data? Also don't you charge the phone at night and then use it all day. I think aod is 1% per hour for the privilege but that depends on brightness also.

Do you use a custom launcher or just the standard Touchwiz one? I've got Nova launcher installed on the Note but not yet used it. I used it on my S7 Edge.

My 128Gb SD card came this morning so just getting the stuff swapped from card to card.

Only ever used Nova Prime. I prefer the stripped back look. Those cartoon icons etc look terrible on the standard phones. You can't see the screen half the time!

Just pre ordered the Pixel 2XL. Due in store on Nov 15th.
Black, 64gb. £51pm on 02. Unlimited minutes and texts. 15gb data. "Free" Google Home.

Memory size really doesn't bother me. I don't know how people manage to use 128+gb when there's so much free storage available now.

Need to look for some cases now. Spigen are my preferred, I'll see what's about.

Nice mate, love them in black. Design on the rear is nice but I can't get on with the bezel design, it's better and I know people don't love no bezels but it can look dated.

I contemplated the smaller one but in reality, there's very little in it due to the massive top and bottom bezel on it.

I've got a 14 day cooling off period from when I get it so I'll make a decision then, more likely keep it tbh and flog the Nexus 6p that I have now.

Same boat as me but I'm really reluctant to sign up just yet.

I will more than likely though. I want a black 64GB one.

Just had new work phones. Samsung Galaxy A5s. It's s**t. I've put nova launcher on it to make it slightly less s**t looking, but still s**t.

I love my Nexus

Spigen are my choice for cases also. Though I haven't got one yet for the Note.

There's loads of free storage about yes, all 100% dependant on the internet connection. You can't beat having everything you need to hand. Each to their own though

Cloud storage for me is purely for backup purposes.

An at as a works phone! That does sound very very bad!

With a bit of time you could strip it right back and nexusify it a bit. At least it will be useable.

I've done my best with Nova to make it look like my Nexus.
It's not just the phone though. We've got a new phone system at work now (BT One Phone, if anyone knows it) and I just can't get my head round it. I think settings back at the office need tweaking, as whenever I dial out from my mobile, it comes up on the other person's phone as tho I'm calling from the office landline

Tbh, if I want to watch a film or tv series then I'll watch them on my tablet. I rarely watch stuff on the phone at the moment.

I don't think it's as bad as people are making out, especially if it's more correct to life than what you are used to. Something that can be sorted with a software update if Google deem it necessary.
Every laptop or monitor I have gets calibrated at home and looked massively different to how it comes out of the factory. This might be similar tbh although I won't be able to calibrate the phone screen.

Software should fix some issues like the picture processing but screen will still be display and those icons won't change I wouldn't think.

I'm guessing they didn't use Samsung screens due to costs.

A lot mate. I'm a note taker though and it's a massive part of my job. Also social media related to my job, it's very useful.

Copying any text on any platform is also very useful. Gif making. Picture editing again work related, the pen is invaluable.

Samsung make the Pixel 2 screen
LG make the Pixel 2 XL screen

LG are way behind in their technology :anguished:

Serial? So it's the XL that has the problem? Mental!
Yep. But with Google being Google I'm half tempted to wait now.

When I bought the original 6 they had an issue where the screen would just stop working and they replaced them and changed the screen on later models. So I'm hoping they do the same

Im In the process of backing up my iPhone pics to Google photos.
The photos are showing on the iOS app but not on Google photos on my S8 or MacBook.
Is this just a matter of time as it's backing up 20000 photos?

There's also reports of the Pixel 2 XL screen suffering from screen burn-in.

I'm sticking with my Pixel XL for now.
My Nexus 6p has had screen burn at the top and bottom where the notifications bar and the 3 icons are from close to owning it. Anything constantly on the screen I think will create burn.
Might cancel my previous order for the time being though, wait it out or look at the new Huwai P10+. Supposed to be very good.

My 6P seemed fine when i had it.

OLED screens can be common for it though.

This is my 6p after 2 years.
Burn top and bottom (might not be able to tell on the top)

Well it appears you can't tell anything from that. There's definitely burn top and bottom though.

I'm on the hunt for a new phone, and i'm stuck between the s8, s8+ or the note 8+. Thoughts?
Price and looks wise the S8+ is looking VERY appealing!

I'm discounting the note simply because I don't want to spend £60+ per month on a contract because I find that price f**king ridiculous.

I'm not chuffed at paying £50 pm for the Pixel2 XL (when it arrives in November) so I'm going to look at other phones when I'm back home next week. Don't think there will be any pixels in the shop to look at yet.

The price for the 8+ is reasonable through EE. I'm hoping to give them a call and get the price down as i've been with them from the start/since T-mobile were still around.

I went from a 6s+ to the s8+ and it's a really good phone. The note was a bit too big for me

Anyone else getting scratches on their s8? I'm ultra careful with mine, and have a case on it, and I'm still getting scratches on the screen. Looking online it's happening a lot, they're saying it's because the new glass is softer to make it less likely to break if you drop the phone.
