    Hand brake problem help

Yeah it's been a right pain in the neck lol its such a simple mechanism as well. It looks like the caliper arm is bent or too far forward, which makes it impossible to set correctly at the adjuster. I bought it from unipart, they take my old one in exchange... I am hoping they will swap it...

    Hand brake problem help

Hi, I have just replaced a rear caliper on a 172. After fitting all seemed ok apart from the hand brake cable. Offside really tight but ns very loose. Stretched hand brake cable I thought, so I have just replaced both sides tonight with brand new genuine Renault cables. Os still very tight...

    Cracked brake disc

I've had this happen to me with genuine Renault discs (they come with the bearing pressed). It was a sticking rear caliper that cracked the disc on mine. Whip the rear caliper off (you'll have to clamp the brake pipe), take it to a local motor shop and they'll sort you out with a recon unit...

Dead easy to change the rear shocks as has been said just a few bolts think it's quite common. Think there is a guide in the guide section :)

    abs ring front

I guess it's another hub off to measure it :( I'm right in thinking I need to take a little care with the passenger side driveshaft, that's the side that will leak gearbox oil if it comes loose? Thanks Richard

    abs ring front

Hi, I am having more nightmares with my wife's clio sport 172. I am getting a real juddering and feedback from the brake pedal on a clio 172 (non cup). I have replaced the discs and the pads but forgot to check the abs ring! Am very annoyed with myself but I have had real distraction as I had...

    Balljoint problems.

Look at the thread of the bolt it's probably spinning when tightening the nut. Easy way is to use a jack and jack up to the bottom of the ball joint. That will hold it in place and let you tighten the nut.

    Snapped wheel stub

Hi, I'm not having a good day... 1) Failed interview 2) Letter from HMRC 3) Snapped wheel stud I had just replaced the front discs and pads on the N/S and took the wheel off the front O/S, nuts extremely tight (new tyres recently) so I had to get the good old breaker bar out to loosen, very...

    Grating from brake pedal

Thanks for the replies guys. New rear discs last year (seized rear caliper cracked the disc!). Am guessing it has to be the fronts then, will post back on here once I've had a look :-) Cheers Rich
