To be fair, mine doesn't get more than 29...30 at a huge push sitting at 60 on the a1, sitting at 70 and it goes to 26-28mpg when on a run. It's been a little better since fitting a cat but I'm convinced the decat has shafted the post-cat lambda even though there's no light on.

I'm the 14th owner of my 02 172 (it was a cheap one) and apart from a jazzed driveshaft and rarely dephaser it's lovely. Think it needs a lambda as well. I've never looked how many previous owners a cars had, it's the drive of the car that tells the story.
Was this car bought from Lincoln by any chance? Looks like my mate Chris's old one that he sold a couple of weeks ago with that plate.

Just a quick question, the 3 bearings on the tripod are untrue so car feels awful when you plant it, like it's got a square wheel. Just wondering if anyone knows whether the bearings themselves can be renewed or if it's time for a whole new shaft? It's starting to really do my head in now so...
Picked up a cat from Rob-Gee on Tuesday night, had that fitted yesterday and upon inspection the rest of the exhaust systems isn't as bad as first thought so a new exhaust is well down the list now...which saves me a few quid in the short term!
