    cambelt problems (local garages)

I can recomend using Stoney Cross Garage in Spondon (Derby) for cam & aux belt changing. They have the original tools and have done several cars now, albeit they do moan about access, or lack of access for working on. Cheers Jamie

JL Audio Sub and Amp - advice

JL stuff in general should be considered high end (I have a 10W7), I would not buy any other brand if your aim is SQ. If you just want bass then there are other brands that give higher output but sacrifice the quality of sound.

    Intermitent screen washer operations

Yes the wiper operations are working perfectly, I'm guessing an iffy connection somewhere and hoped soemone else had experienced this issue and could have pointed me straight to the fault, rather than going through the process of checking all parts of the circuit . Which invariably means the...

    Intermitent screen washer operations

The thing is I'm sure the pump isn't running, as there is no sound. When it does kick into life I can clearly hear the pump in operation Cheers Jamie

    Intermitent screen washer operations

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction with this one. Basically the fault at present is intermitent, but when I operate the stalk for windscreen wipers & screen wash operation the wipers start but the washer jets don't squirt. I can't hear the pump trying to operate, and...

172 Cambelt Tool Mot. 1509, is it needed??

Without wanting to fuel this debate, but I've done lots of other cambelts that have similar set ups as regards taper lock arrangements. And on those cars I typically lock the cams & the crank and done the job without issue. Can someone please confirm the latest Renault part references for the...

172 Cambelt Tool Mot. 1509, is it needed??

Hi all, Reading through the Renault guide for cambelt change I am correct in presuming the function of the above tool is purely to facilitate the loosening of either inlet or exhaust sprocket??? If so can I simply use alternate means to secure the pulleys or is it absolutely required...

Ph2 172 upgrade time for brakes & suspension

Ok guys thanks for the feedback so far but can I clarify a couple of points; Should I ditch the structbrace and spend the money on the coilover kit ,on the basis the clio doesn't 'flex' that much?? Secondly brake choice sounds okay moneywise, do I simply leave the rear set up as is...

Ph2 172 upgrade time for brakes & suspension

Hi all, Time has come to think about giving the suspension & braking of my stock 03 plate 172 FF (55,000 miles) an overhaul. For convenience I've looked mainly at the KTEC site as they offer potentially everything I'm likely to need/afford. I'm reasonably convinced on purchasing the front strut...

    crappy radio reception

Hi all, Got an Alpine aftermarket HU (7998R) and radio reception is poor for either 'local' radio stations and Radio 1. However crappy radio 2 and other Terry Wogan specials are okayish. I've checked fitment in the dash area and also done the clean the ariel mast and fixing point but...

Alpine 7998R Stalk & display troubles

I've had the head unit for 5 years and been gathering dust for the last 2 years since selling my other car. So decided to bung it all in the clio ,bought the leads from halfords and a year later on getting round to it, I can't get them to work now which is annoying as taking the dash off isn't...

Passenger door doesnt open or lock on Central Locking

Suggest you remove door card first and operate the CL whilst having a can of WD40 on the relevant bits. That normally lubricates parts that have simply dried out.
