Minis became famed in the early 1960s for their rally prowess, and Mr. Hopkirk and Henry Liddon won the 1964 Monte Carlo rally at the wheel of a John Cooper-prepped Mini #37, the last team of British drivers to do so. Mini would repeat the feat with different drivers the following few years.

While BMW will put the Mini WRC on track next year, it doesn't plan a full season of rally racing until 2012.

Like it!

They really need a something other than Citroens and Fords at the moment. Hope it's quick.

Have they got drivers confirmed yet?

They probably are, I am just wandering why they aren't using the usual looking Mini, would look much better.

Something to do with building it & the rollcage IIRC.
Maybe makes things easier?

there was an article in EVO a couple of months back (think it was an interview with David Richards) where they stated that the countryman (5 door mini) had perfect dimensions for a WRC car...

Looks s**te from the side if you ask me, looks similar to when some one get's a 5 door clio and make's it into a 172 rep....
