decided this afternoon i would try and remove the seatbelts all round....

got the fronts out quite easy...then noticed that to get the rears out you have to take the plastic panel off, and to do that you have to take the rear quarter off......so i did...lol

all done, all out, and the mass of stuff

so the main question, should this all stay out? or should i just put the trim back in? there will be no rear seats, spare wheel etc as buckets and harnesses are going in

Depends on whether you're really worried about the back looking nice or like a track car tbh! If it was me I'd keep it all in the back and get a false, carpeted floor so it sort of "in keeps" with it all otherwise just get shot of the lot on eBay ;)

Do you want a proper track car? or A daily driver that you occasionally track? That should be the question.

i would keep the plastics tbh as i dont think tht the plastic will weigh a great deal

If its the latter Mr Bone, i'd be leaving the rear quarter trims in. The car looks awful stripped unless its a dedicated toy like Jays.

Take all the belts and heavey s**t out and refit the panels. Looks nicer and they weigh naff all.

All you'd need to do is either board out the rear and carpet it, or clean it all up and paint it so its spangly clean.

*(Please note I could not be arsed to do any of this to my car when I did it...)*

people saying take out the plastics and board and carpet it out.

i bet the board weights more than the plastic trims, so that defeats the object 250%

lol

sounds like a plan, perhaps i'll go with the painted rear idea

Wait, did you not sell the seats and door cards?

only seats sold mate.....

think the trim may go back in then, but what we reckon bout the sound deadening and speakers?

not doing bad for a guy with a gammy shoulder!

id leave the back door cards in personally...... although that does sound like a good idea removing the belts (particually the middle one)

If its just occassional track I dont think I'd be able to cope with the hollowness. It will sound like a van in there. I'd keep it in unless you are gonna turn it in to a proper track car.

Looking at your pics makes me realise what a shockingly shite shade of blue the standard interior is.

I think id carpet the rear, leave all the trims in and just remove the back seats with possibly a half cage.

flocked dash yes...carbon rear quarters look good but cost way too much

what about imatation stuff? my mates 106 rallye has them throughout and look awesome imo. its in the megs top 25 at fcs so have a look

Trouble with taking it all out is, that there's no where to put the drink from extra value meals.

Strip it you p*ssey! lol just kiding.

Things have moved on from the days of big wheels and fibreglass body kit, now its all about stripping caging and seats. The trackday look is in now.
