So today me and @lyrix headed to my work. While he set to work on the Clio, I gave his recently acquired Q5 some TLC.
Scenic shifter fitted with yanoo bushes and quaife knob. Powerflex rear exhaust bush added, gear linkage cleaner and regreased and better LEDs also fitted.
The car's transformed - don't know I didn't do this mod when I had a scenic shifter before. Slicker change, no more reaching down - sits right where I want it. Long old day for both of us but well worth it. Next is either new seats or find a way of lowering the driver's base further still.

Very interesting this! I'm really at a "cross roads" what to do with mine. Leave it as it is, do this, get a PMS, choices choices LOL!

This looks a very good set up at what i'd imagine was a fraction of the cost of a PMS! Do you notice any rattles or vibrations with it mate? I don't want my car knocking away like a racing car with the PMS that's all, heard they can make a bit of noise

Steve, this is a great setup on a budget. Graham (who did the hard work lol) drove it this morning and loves it. No rattles, no vibrations and lightning quick Gear changes so win win all round.
Fitting was complex but only due to rusted bolts here and there. Otherwise brilliant.

Sounds great Andy! So what was the exact list of things you bought?
No rattles and no vibrations =

Spent a few minutes at work this evening polishing up the rear silencer of the Powerflow exhaust I've bought for the car before fitting on Friday.
I've added some TPI anodised wheel bolts too and may fit a PMS carbonfibre surround once the rear bumper is cut for the new tailpipe.

Overkill but gave the new wheel bolts a quick coating tonight. I've read varied reports of them corroding so figured this would help prevent that. Or I'm just weird.

Exhaust wasn't for me. Bit bling and doesn't sit the way I wanted. Fitted TPI bolts so at least that worked out.

And a nice little shot caught by a customer at work today.

Look so clean with the TPI bolts, hopefully they dont rust like some people see! I know you've coated them though, so fingers crossed :)

The cars immaculate as always too!

Andy what setup do you have wheel/suspension wise? Are those 15's? Are you lowered at all? Spacers?

Thanks

Chris

16", standard shocks front, Cup rears - all new last year. Standard top mounts, Eibach Sportline springs and PMS 5mm spacers.

118k hit this week - missed the change as I was driving lol.
And in other news another car has joined my fleet...
Half true as I've bought my daughter her first car. Perfect as it's cheap (£350), parts are peanuts (£30 for a radiator for example), slower than a bicycle and cheap to insure. It isn't getting polished, modded or fiddled with so a result all round.
Skinny front plate ordered for the Clio too.

Great cars the Micra's. U never hear anyone moan about them
Looks great lowered and with 13" alloy's on too
We have 4 of the bloody things at work. I bought mine from one of the guys here, he replaced it with a flip paint Ltd edition one and my business partner runs 1 with another for spares/pissing off his neighbour. I figured cheap and reliable first car so perfect.

Great first car the micra. I'll have to go first car shopping next year[emoji15]. Just don't let your daughter see @bashracing micra race car! #girlracer

Micra needs Lowz then it'll do the clio through the twisteez,
k11 micra's are the ultimate new driver's car use to being cheap to own and run, plus they are indestructible mechanically

I won't tell her boyfriend....
We have a fourth one bought for £170 on eBay and in need of TLC. Coilovers are being considered - I also suggested matt black paint and flames :D

Not a huge update but my plate from proplates turned up the other day so I whacked it on - much better.
Had time after a manic fortnight at work to wash and lay on a quick coat of Zaino Z5 too.

What size plate is that Andy?

Car looks ace as always. Glad you discarded the exhaust. It would take it away from what you have which is a lovely nice oem+ car.
Thanks mate. 520 x 84 so slightly narrower than the recess top to bottom.
Exhaust was really gash - may look out a K Tec stealth at some point.
Funds allowing I plan to get some bodywork done over the winter, chase all the dings out and then up the gloss a bit - close up the paint's swirly but I haven't had time to do anything to sort.

I'll just leave this hear. I won't pretend I'm not mildly disappointed. I didn't have a baseline in mind so at least I've got a starting point I guess. Feedback was that timing or fuelling is the issue so that's something to work with.

Glad the Yanoo bushes found you and fitted okay.

I bet you're gutted about the result.. however shouldn't be too difficult to fix. Yours is similar mileage and mods to mine so should be 165ish. Fingers crossed!

That's a bummer, does it feel down on power? It must do surely! I'd get the timing checked as the first port of call.
@iyrix can answer that better than me mate - he's driven mine and his made almost 30hp more this morning. I'm going to call Ren Tech Monday and get booked in asap.
On the plus side, it feels quick and strong so it'll be epic once sorted :D

It'll be like a new car! Youll be getting about 25bhp more hopefully

This is interesting they've said about fuelling! All the issues I had with mine, not revving/stuttering past 5k, turned out to be fuel pump! Fingers crossed it's something like this with yours Andy. Pre new pump I made 150ish, new pump fitted and mapped, 180.9 so keep the faith!

That's interesting! I want to get mine on a dyno tbh.

Yeah have a read on my thread bud, lots on there about it, long story short, was playing up a lot, took it to Renault who said coilpack and plugs...... both done! Still did it!! Took it to Andy @ ED and he got it on the rollers and straight away said fuel and pump. But, he did say Renault would have never spotted what he saw as they don't have the equipment he has

This is why I'll be using a specialist straight off . Doubt my local dealer would know where to start beyond a diagnostic session lol.

Reading this has made my mind up to go and get mine checked out on the rollers! Mine feels great and pulls really well but I guess you never really know until it’s checked out.
Fingers crossed yours in an easy fix
Great car... wish mine was half as clean.

That RR result must have been a shock, but if you've not driven other clio's much then you would just think your car is running as it should be. It'll be great when it's sorted and hopefully run as good as it looks!
