DIY std ECU mapping

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
Fuel Part throttle : 1735 in 32kb file and 9735 in full read 9X20
Fuel full throttle : 814 in 32kb file and 8814 in full read 9X20 (cold?)
Fuel full throttle : 8c8 in 32kb file and 88c8 in full read 9X20 (Normal temp?)
Ignition : 392 in 32kb file and 8392 in full read 9X20 (cold 98 ron?)
Ignition : 446 in 32kb file and 8446 in full read 9X20 (normal temp 98 ron?)
Ignition : 4FA in 32kb file and 84fa in full read 9X20 (cold 95 ron?)
Ignition : 5AE in 32kb file and 85AE in full read 9X20 (normal temp 95 ron?)
Revlimits : 266E in 32kb file and A66E in full read 5X1 16bit LoHi
(cold/hot,Launch in launch-file,normal-temp,temp limit?, shiftlight on X rev before rev limit)

There is a few maps that i am unsure about:
I guess that 667 (8667 in full read) is lambda map 9X20
and those i have no clue
28C0 (A8C0 in full) is a map 13X17 16 bit LoHi
And 24AE is (a4ae in full) another 9X20 16bit map.

Fuel maps are 16x16, not 20x9

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
172 cup for example, 4 fuel maps at:

3609, 3709, 3809, 3909, all 16x16.

182 is in a similar area but slightly different addresses

Fuel maps are 9x20 and there's 4 of them.

Those maps are optimal spark Danny.

yeah found the real fuel maps. told you hex fried my brain.8 ignition maps FFS, standalone kicks the arse out of this crap lol

Ok found the 16x16 spark maps. Are we saying these are spark limiter map? Or the actual spark maps? If the actual ones then what are the 9x20 ones earlier in the file? Looking at a group n file the earlier maps are altered I think from memory. Not found the 16x16 maps in that file yet.

Don't worry about those, they don't seem to do anything really. If you log the spark you can see exactly which map it runs on.

Thanks Paul. Your help is appreciated.

I'm trying to put a document together that compares the maps between a 182, 172 and the group n file I found on the net.

The offset for ignition tables should be x0.375 -23.625 Faboka, or at least that's what I have in my file. It could be wrong of course :)

  R5GTT, 2L turbo
I've not really looked at 172 bins before but this has spiked my interest Faboka. Look at 1EA3 8bit in the 172 file, that looks like it could be load.

  R5GTT, 2L turbo
Ignore that, the fuel and spark tables look close to linear so 1EA3 won't be load. 1118 and 1139 look like coolant enrich VS temp, 1156 maybe air temp. At this stage you need to be trialing them in a car really.

Thanks scoff. I only have a generic obd scanner for logging so not very good. I was thinking of getting a Reno clip but it's been mentioned that rstuner is better at logging.

ok think I've found the load axis some googling has come up with the factor and offset. Will up date the doc later in the week.

Looking at some ignition logs, the 9x20 looked to match up (warm 98 Ron). The 16x16 maps don't match up.

Sorry guys, don't seem to be getting an email notification on posts!

Scoff are you THE Scoff??? Waddy, Peter Stroud etc etc???

Anyway.....think we are all getting ahead of ourselves and messy along the way, firstly we really need to find something that reads the whole ecu, something that can also write, is cheap to buy etc otherwise theres really no point as, as someones already mentioned you might as well go stand alone as they are already leaps ahead
So we need
1 A Cable
2 Software that will allow to read(minimum)and write(hopefully)
3 A full read from a few cars so we have a 'norm'
4 Work the tables
5 Software to edit (loads)

Galletto and mpps clones. Or genuine alientech powergate s.

I've read my standard 182 ecu. Also have standard 172 and 1.4 16v files.

galletto lead

drivers and read/write software

Tunerpro editing software

There's no "normal" I've read from 2 cups in the last week or so, and they're both different in small ways.

checksums..........harder without WinOLS and the paid for modules you need, don't quite have that solution yet
i have full winols!
my 1260 copy cable doesn't read the Clio though, tunerpro hmmm prefer rommraider as it's easier to set up

i have both clones and neither talk to the Clio, alientech scrambles the checksums so is pointless, not tried a powergate but again these will be expensive, we want something anyone can afford otherwise it's pointless

Yes, only the one Scoff (thank the lord eh :) )

I can R/W the whole 512kb from the uproc (sirius 34) - but I don't think you ment that ?

The discussion here is really about what is happening in the 32kb flash. They wouldn't be this far along if they didn't already have the tool, software and ability to checksum. :)

I wish I had time and motivation for this kind of thing!

I think the clone leads will be "OK" with the later CAN stuff but maybe not the earlier Clio ECU's.

What you need is the checksum calc, without that the rest is pointless sadly.

Who can map the GEN90? Ideally in the North West

You are in the wrong thread really mate.

But try RS Tuning in leeds, depending on what version of the Gen90 software you have.

Or if you have a laptop with the software and lead, then anyone who is good at mapping can do so.
