    Officially released 22nd November 2013.

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-09-04-xbox-one-release-date-announced

Xbox One launches on 22nd November in 13 territories including the US and the UK, Microsoft has announced.
Marketing executive Yusuf Mehdi also revealed in a statement that additional Day One Editions of the next-gen console would be made available to help meet the expected demand.

Here is Mehdi's full statement announcing the launch:

First, we hit an important milestone as we began full production of the Xbox One console recently. The culmination of many years of listening to you, our fans, developing innovative technology, and partnering with the best game and entertainment partners in the industry has brought us to this point. There is still a lot more work to do, but the teams are making excellent progress and are focused on launch.

Speaking of launch, we're now in a position to share that Xbox One will be available on November 22, 2013 in all 13 of our initial launch markets - Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA. Many more markets will follow in 2014.

We are humbled and gratified by the tremendous interest in Xbox One from game fans everywhere. We sold out of our pre-order supply faster than at any other time in our history and we are on path to have the biggest launch of an Xbox ever. We look forward to celebrating with millions and millions of gamers this holiday.

As a result of this incredible consumer demand and the development progress on Xbox One, I am thrilled to share that today we are making available a limited number of additional Xbox One Day One consoles for pre-order. We have coordinated with our retail partners to make it easy for you to reserve your Xbox One today.

Finally, in the spirit of continuing to bring new value and excitement to Xbox, I am also pleased to confirm that the development team has increased the CPU from 1.6GHz to 1.75GHz, roughly a 10% increase in CPU performance. This is on top of the 6% increase we previously announced for the GPU. What does this mean to you the gamer? It means that the Xbox One will have that much more power for developers to make their games and entertainment really shine. We're going to keep bringing more value to the Xbox One as we head towards launch building on some of the advancements we have already shared such as the 40-plus improvements to the Xbox One controller, advancements to help you find the perfect opponent and make the most of our online community, to the power of the cloud.

And I have to mention the games - Xbox One is proving to be the best place for games, with our exclusive games winning over 100 awards at E3, driving pre-order increases of 200% in European markets after gamers first played our blockbuster line-up at gamescom, and blowing away thousands of fans at PAX Prime this weekend. Only on Xbox One will you find exclusive blockbusters like Halo, Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome and Forza Motorsport 5; new digital content from titles like coming Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 coming to Xbox One first; and the FIFA 14 Ultimate Team experience you won't find anywhere else.

November 22 is a special day in Xbox history - on this day, we first launched Xbox 360 [in the US] in 2005. Our next chapter begins in 79 days, when Xbox One becomes available. We built Xbox One to bring you the best games, unrivalled multiplayer and more entertainment than ever before. It's nearly time to say “Xbox On” and open a new world of games and entertainment.
Rival console PlayStation 4 releases on 15th November in the US and 29th November in the UK.

Xbox One costs £429 in the UK, although those who pre-order the Day One Edition also get a free digital copy of FIFA 14.
23 games have been confirmed for release on day one. They are:

    • Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag
    • Battlefield 4
    • Call of Duty: Ghosts
    • Crimson Dragon
    • Dead Rising 3
    • FIFA 14

    Nice.

I'm collecting from GAME, in York.

Hope they do a midnight launch, with it being a Friday, I may as well write the weekend off.

As I've said, I've pre-ordered mine from Shopto with digitial download of FIFA14 free and Battlefield 4 bundle.

Can't wait but I will have GTA V to tide me over until then

Did think we'd see the XBO in early October mind, but it's only another month or so to wait.

That's a good time, I'm home from UAE and gives me a bit longer to get the millions out of the vaults to purchase games.

I was really hoping for a bigger wait than 1 week between the two consoles.

I'm going to wait a few months before picking up a PS4 I think. A week between releases of both consoles is too short for £900 outlay.

    I say that now.

I'm beginning to doubt my PS4. Only put £20 down on it. So might not collect/sell the deposit.

Sounds good, I'm getting one. Although no mention in there of Titanfall as exclusive so looks like rumours of it as a timed exclusive are true.

Pre-ordered from Amazon as soon as it was available.

My Xbone is going under my TV and will be my primary home media device for stuff like Netflix, movie rentals and most games, especially those that I might want to play online with my friends.

My PS4 will be connected to my PC monitor and speakers and will be used just for exclusive Sony games or those that have a massive technical advantage over the Xbone version. By technical advantage I mean the frame rate primarily, not fussed about minor texture or shadow quality issues as I'd get the PC version if I was.

Pre-ordered mine from shopto, along with Forza 5, but not sure if I actually want it now LOL

Don't use my 360 or PS3 much (for games) these days, really busy at work & home, GTA5 might spark my interest again though, but I am still 50:50 about whether to get the XBO or not...

Am I kidding myself thinking there will be some better deals at Xmas? I'm trying to persuade myself to wait but shopto have pretty much the perfect bundle for me. XB1 with forza 5, battlefield 4 and an extra controller for £520. Seems a bit pricey to me? Would have thought it'd be about £480/£490

Yeah I can't stand sh*tty football. Haven't played a football game since Sensible Soccer on the Amiga.

I "was" going to buy a digital download of Forza from MS once my console arrived. The fact that they announced FIFA being thrown in made no difference to me. I had no intention in hell of ever redeeming that code and would probably have given it away to a mate if it were possible, if not I'd have binned it rather than install that sh*te on my console.

Now because I don't read forums 24/7 I find out there was for a Forza pre-order bundle (for a brief period) that has already sold out by the time I find out.

So this means Microsoft are giving me a £45 incentive to actually CANCEL my pre-order and wait for the Forza bundle to be in stock. Crazy.

If they had a brain they would have packaged the console with a "game code" that you could redeem for FIFA or Forza.

I agree, but I'm guessing it has something to do with these extra units they have 'found' capacity to build.

i would assume they did a deal with ea to bundle FIFA for X number of units foc, and then when they needed more units, they just bundled their own game? And those extra units sold out very quickly because of that, genius idea to sell the extra units they committed to.

Reserved a few for the Xbox One instore today (they told me they won't be selling games on the midnight launch, only preorders?!)

    CoD
    Battlefield
    Watch dogs
    Forza 5
    2nd Xbox controller
    Plug & charge kit

Didn't preorder any for the PS4, as nothing grabbed me, plus GT isn't a launch day title.

Firstly, it isn't out on next gen consoles.

Secondly, WWE 2k14 looks absolutely f*cking gash. Seriously. I have WWE '13 but the latest one really is an absolute mess. Wii graphics at best.

Not as a free download (you get Fifa 14), but you can pre-order it with Forza 5 as a bundled game
