Stripping 172 - what keeps window up?

  182, 172 Track Shed
What actually keeps the window held up?

Currently stripping our PH1 172 and I want to remove the window regulators (if thats the right word)

Seems to be a metal rod heading up behind the door skin towards the window, but its hard to tell if its holding window up or not

Ideally I just want to just yank them out without window suddenly coming down!

PMSL. There's a part on the electric window motor mech that holds it up.

Remove it and the window will drop down.

Lol thats what I thought ok

So what have people done with their stripped clios?

Left the motor in, or bodged something to hold the window up?

Most people have either left the window motors in, or gone down the polycarb route.

Not sure if there are any boggo spec Clio Mk2's which had mechanical windows?

when my regualtor snapped i put a length of broom handle with a notch in top hold the window up. Should save ya a bit of weight! lol!
till you get poly windows!
