MarkCup's Fiesta ST

Shame about the mirror, at least there wasn't any panel damage though.

Can I ask why you use the term VED instead of TAX ?

Had mine two weeks and had it mountuned today. Only on 250 miles so been taking it relatively easy but the low down shove is immense now and pick up in any gear is strong. Having read numerous reviews I didn't expect to notice a lot of difference but I definitely can. Well worth it IMO. Just debating now whether to stick the badge on or not. Thinking not.
MarkCup it will feel like a different car when you get yours done.

Part of me really wants to, the other part doesn't need it. On the roads I drive at this time of the year the torque and power it has as standard is more than enough to lose traction at will and pass what I want/need to safely.

But my insurance renewal may force the issue and make it happen sooner :D

Why VED?

Force of habit...it's not really a tax based on or for the roads.

What roads ?

You can never have too much power or Torque .

Hear what you're saying, but seriously you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner!

I don't doubt that at all!

Seriously though, I just love this car right now exactly as it is. Almost 8,500 miles in and I struggle to find even the slightest fault with it, so I kind of want to 'save' the MP215 upgrade for when/if I start to lose the buzz from driving it standard. Plan is 5yrs and 100k miles in my ownership so I have a long way to go yet.

Change of plan, MP215 will be added when it has its first 12.5k mile service in January...hopefully in time for the annual Surrey Rolling Road day (if there is one).

I don't feel there's anything missing at the moment, but thought as this is a long term keeper of a car, why not have it as good as it can be for the duration. Having done almost 9k miles already I know at its core it is superb, so a near 20% increase on its already ample torque figure can't be ignored any longer!

Good move.

I assume you will be coming to Brentwood to do that....?

I had the first 3 services thrown in by my supplying dealership...they're also one of the Mountune approved fitment centres so the plan is to get them to do the lot in one go.

Having said that, Brentwood's not a massive drive for me and it would make it a bit of an event if I take a day off and head to Mountune HQ for the fitting...so I may end up doing that instead.

The trouble with that is I'll probably also want the Mountune intercooler and the revised gearshift linkage fitted too; if I'm there and they have the stock it will be difficult to say no!

I genuinely can't see a single reason why someone wouldn't go for the Mountune package on these if they had the cash. It's even good value for money compared to non manufacturer approved maps when you factor in the retained warranty!

Not happening...I've just spoken with Doug at Mountune, the intended customer for this is non-UK.

This means that if you install the 215 upgrade map using this method, it won't be recorded on Ford's system, and you're therefore out of warranty.

Back to my dealership for the kit it is then!

  An orange one
I saw an orange one of these last night with silver wheels instead of anthracite.. Didn't realise that was a choice. Looked so fresh!

These win so much over the new clio 200T grand scenic it's unreal

LOL at Grand Scenic!

Standard the car comes with the silver wheels; the anthracite 99% of them have is part of the £275 style pack (coloured wheels, red calipers, illuminated 'ST' sill plates) but seeing as every dealership has been offering this for free all year it's quite a popular choice.

We have seen a few they decide that only half will light up ridiculous price. apart from that to be honest haven't had one go wrong . few recalls for brake calliper washers etc but that's it

  Fiesta ST2
Hi Mark and y'all

New to Cliosport and no longer an RS driver! Had my first RS, 172PhI when they were released in 2000, then a 197, R26, RS250 and back to a 197 (my favourite) when both THE and my economy began to take a downturn a couple of years back. Then got so stretched by the expensive fuel, low mileage returns, and (suspected imminent) repair bills on the 197, decided to throw in the towel last February and got a new 1.0L Fiesta Zetec on a two year Options deal.

Hadn't had a Ford since a MkIII Escort 1.3 and then Orion 1.6i back in 84. I was gobsmacked by the Fiesta. Hadn't had as much fun since the 172. Things had certainly moved forward in both quality and delivery. Loved the power, the gearing, the build quality, the economy, the chassis... everything really.

I'd given myself all sorts of justifications as to why I was maybe too old and sensible to drive a hot hatch anymore, but on the way home the other night, and having become aware of the amazing reception that the ST2 has had, and work picking up again, I thought f** it - and dropped into the dealership.

O my goodness. Orange one sitting in the showroom. Could I break the Options agreement and have one of those? Yes I could. I didn't give the orange one a second glance. My mind rejected anything so loud and ostentatious. Blue one please. Done. Order in. Delivery? March/April... May even? OK. It's certainly worth waiting for.

Then I came across this thread. Jaw dropping. To hear how even RS Clio owners have embraced this car.

Straight back to the dealership. Order cancelled. I'll have that one there please. The orange one. Right there.

Done. Picking it up Saturday morning. Woo f***ing hoo. Christmas has come early. Any arguments at the Xmas dinner table and I'm off!

Thanks Mark! ;)
