Update:

The old girl had a MoT on Tuesday, she passed ( It had a few advisories mind) ;) I somehow racked up just over 6k so she's now on 146k.

As the weather was nice this afternoon I took her out on some of my favourite local roads ( FletchRing etc)

Cooling down..

Really happy with my new brake set up CL RC6 pads, HC discs, goodridge braided hoses and ate super blue fluid, the real test will be track work. Plan for the winter is suspension refresh, PMS- top mounts and PMS exhaust.

Looks great mate! what are the CL pads like? I'm looking into getting some

Good points: Great stopping power from cold, epic when hot
Bad points: Noisy when cooling down, dusty ( not as and as DS3000 mind)

And this is from coming from Compbrake 4 pots running DS3000 pads, well recommended from me mate.

No prob buddy. I can see myself getting two pole positions by this time next year

PP's are great, good choice fella.

Epic little read, I'm fairly sure I have seen this around the New Forest a few times, looked very purposeful :D

The 172 hasn't moved much lately, but a couple of weeks ago it was Goodwood Hot Hatch Sunday breakfast club. I went the scenic route which includes some of my favourite B roads, the car was faultless and on the way there the barring the knocking on tight left handers pretty sure it's the engine mounts, so they will be changed soon.

A pic that adalis took at Goodwood..

But on the way back I noticed a knocking from the brakes, one of the 18mm caliper to hub bolts had come loose. So I ordered 4 new bolts.

I also noticed my new nearside CV boot had split 😧

And this morning my order from Opie oils arrived so I gave the old girl an oil change

The old oil had done 6k of hard miles and was black, so I think I'll change the oil at 4k intervals from now on.

Things to do list, before next spring.

Replace CV joint
Recaro side mounts/ OMP subframe ( to fit passenger seat)
New engine mounts
PMS Top mounts/ strut brace
PMS exhaust

Cheers Mark.

Cheers Lukas, Probably me then I live quite close to Southampton, so am often around the New Forest/ Winchester A272.

Thanks for the pics TimR26 :)
Any roads/routes you'd recommend round that way? I work Andover on Sundays, often leave a couple of hours early for a pre work drive.

Pretty much all of the A272 is great when quiet, my personally favourite stretch is the 10 miles between Morstead- Corhampton some great bends and elevations ( AKA the FletchRing)

Stockbridge to Andover is good, once you get pars the Mayfly pub Cottonworth the road gets good, and coming back that way you could go via Wherwell that would take you back to the A32.

Looks great as ever. Keen to see / hear the PMS exhaust on it

Cheers Oii, looking forward to having more rasp, and less drone!

Looking good Fletch, how does the new pedal compare? Personally i find it quite easy to heel toe on standard pedals.

Aux belt has started squeaking at full lock :( so that needs changing ASAP. I will hopefully have the new vibratechnics engine mounts, and PMS strut brace/ top mounts, new subframe- Recaro side mounts, and new Cup wishbones etc fiited soon too. Also waiting to hear back from GSM Perfomance about my replacement Recaro SPG harnesses hole covers for the pass seat SPG.
