NTFS-3G/MacFuse is pretty essential IMO.

You may also need Office.

NTFS-3G/Macfuse means you can write to NTFS files/volumes. Massively important in my experience.

iPhone Data Transfer

I have now got my iMac and want to use that for syncing and updating my iphone BUT how do i move all my apps from my windows to the mac?

i have copied all the music and imported it to itunes etc but not a clue how i do apps?

Also is there anything else i need to copy?

The shut down is FAST but if the boot up was quicker id be cumming on my feet.

You need to be able to turn it up to 11.

That's RAM for a Windows machine. You can get special stuff for a Mac that has a small dial on it, so you can 'turn it up to 11'

It's not recommended and it's rare/expensive, but it really does boost performance.

My RAM came with a little app which lets you adjust the speed by pinching the trackpad. Coconut Memory I think it's called. Basically means I can adjust the boost for when copying files and that

For it to boot up instantly, you'll have to wait for OSX Otter, as that will support it. And get an SSD (SuperSpecialDrive) which just starts up automatically.

EDIT: LOL at you thinking it's bullshit! Google it tbh. As Revels said they aint common but worth the extra dosh imo.

Why do people boot up Macs anyway? Just put it to sleep and it'll wake in the blink of an eye. Mac OSX barely ever needs restarting. Unlike Windows where you sometimes have to shut down just to safely eject a USB drive. lol.

Yeah, the only time my MacBook actually shuts down is when I'm doing an update. Rest of the time I just close the lid and let it sleep. The pulsing light soothes me.
