Spotted three clio's parked in a group, a black dci, a 1.2 and another - I drove past & waved in the other black dCi with black wheels, any of you on here? :)
+1... I did mine under the car a few weeks back early in the morning when we had a frost & the oil was nice & thick. ;)
Jacked the N/s up, slid under the car on some cardboard - span the old sensor out, stuck my finger over the hole and span the new one in.
Sbridgey - if you have a new n/s...
FIXED! The aircon pressure sensor lead in front of the aux belt/bottom pulley was blowing back against the pulley at high speed... bareing off the insulation & shorting the wires against the pulley.
When the car cut out it would slow down and the wires would return to their former position...
Thanks! :)
I understand there to be further changes in the speedo drive/starter motor position in these boxes, was revised in earlier & later models?
Will have a delve in my haynes for the ratios, cheers!
Car has done nearly 103k so a clutch is on the cards anyways, wondering if I should...
Q: would a 182 JC5 box bolt straight on to a JB3 engine? I remember something about the ratios being different??
** I have listed my spare NEW circlip on eBay **...

I would go with the french plate - replaces the circlip and washer, plus it would have been easier to mark the holes out...
Cheers! Saved me pulling the gearbox & getting another anyways....
Just confused by why they had such a fragile arrangement anyways??
This is the Renault bolted arrangement, cant remember which box?
My clutch will be next - think the release bearing will give before the friction...
SORTED! :)
Heres the link for the French plate which replaces the circlip & washer as well - joyous as it is he didnt have any stock and wouldnt for the next ten days...
Indeed! Waiting for the new washer & circlip to turn up, will fabricate a retention ring to keep the new one in there - not keen on reassembly as standard for it to grenade 10 miles later... ;)
Stripped off the n/s driveshaft, the engine has indeed spat out its sun gear & circlip etc...
Cheaper than a new clutch I suppose... will get pics up asap, new circlip & washer on order, here Tues - £6 the pair? Driveshaft has been off before so might be the second time...
Looking at an...
