Yet another noob and his black 1.2 dynamique

So now I have finished up with uni for Christmas, I have decided to spend some time sorting the car. I spent about an hour today cleaning it up, exterior only because it started to rain :dapprove::dapprove: *Typical Scotland*

So here's a few pictures of the car as it stands right now.

As you can see, the alloys are in pretty poor nick. I've owned this car for 3 months now, and I honestly still cant understand how the previous owner got them so badly scuffed.

Also, the plastic dash strips look horrible IMO, on any car, so they needed covered up. A cheap bit of 3m di-noc done the trick nicely there, Having some thoughts of doing a few extra bits, but I guess Ill see.

My plans at the moment for the car are:-
1. colour code all the plastic on the car.
2. Get a cup spoiler.
3. Paint Brake calipers.
4. The engine cover on the car was missing when i got it, but i managed to pic one up of the bay second hand for £8.99, Ill be repainting it most likely if i can find the decals for it online.
5. New pedals/repaint foot rest black again
6. I want to find the plain black door cards, but haven't had any luck as of yet.
7. I want to do something with the bullets, haven't decided yet. I will add, I hate chrome.
8. Going to attempt a DIY job of fixing the alloys, if that fails, New alloys.
9. New grill
10. Paint rear Badges Gun metal grey
11. Lower on new spring (not going coilovers due to the cost of insurance, ive just turned 20 and this is my first car)
12. New Stereo and SPEAKERS!
13. Custom Boot Liner.

Id say I've had my fair share of experience with a dremel and soldering, so I may have a go at fitting some form of Android tablet in to the dash, I've seen a few people do it with iPad's, but I want something a bit smaller.

Welcome to ClioSport! Your plans sound good, will be really interesting to see you fit a tablet into the dash; I've never seen that done before. I'd recommend you add silvervision indicator bulbs and clear/smoked side repeaters to your shopping list as they're only cheap. Apart form that I think you've covered everything to be honest! Best of luck, will look forward to seeing how this one pans out.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay, Ive spent all week priming, filling, sanding and cleaning my wheel. Trying to get it done, but its taking a great deal longer than i thought it would.

rebuilt most of the edging of the rim :-

its getting there slowly, but surely in a few days it will be ready for painting.

on a plus note, my engine cover arrived, its in need of a good clean, but heres a quick snap.

Also, decided that Its going to be a nexus 7 that will be getting mounted onto the dash.

That is that engine with very tight sparkplug holes !!!I spent 2 houres looking for a narrow 14 key .

Thank you. They are definitely looking better now. Still a bit more to go on them. As for the tablet, I've been looking into coding a custom interface for it, but I'll probably be able to find something else available for it. And yeah, the sparkplugs were replaced in September. But I'll keep that in mind. Thank you !

finally had some time to get to work on this project.
so, first things first, someone stole my black badge

changed my side repeaters to the black smoked effect ones.

And I spent 5 hours giving the inside a damn good clean!

I also noticed the other night that my fog lights had not worked since i got the car in august. So after checking all the connections and cables were all in okay condition, I noobed out and forgot to check the fuse. Turns out, £1 for a few fuses from frauds and they were working again, and looking good

and lastly, I decided to strip out the old stereo for something a bit better, managed to pick up a sony bluetooth headunit which was a decent grab on my part. Going to be upgrading the speakers in the doors etc soon also!

Hey guys. Been A while, But i have a few updates for you all.


Car has been lowered and had the front shock absorbers replaced.
This was possibly, the longest day ever. Plan was to install the springs, but so many seized bolts, and then finding out both my front shocks were blown, meant a trip to a part dealer, god, that was a pricey day.
35-40mm spax springs

Spoiler is now colour coded, instead of black plastic, as are the side trim bits.

New Headunit has been installed. its a sony DSX-A50BT

I also, Wrapped the gearstick lever in carbon wrap, which was an interesting endevour.

There is actually axle stands under it, recently though, my friend was working on a car and one of his stands gave way, so since then, we always sit the wheel under just incase, Better to have a shafted wheel, than have the full front end land on the deck. haha, Plus, its also a handy place to store it to keep it handy, but out the way!

Exact same thing here. Every Time i go around to giving it a try, something else comes up, i.e. my front shocks went bang. then the track rod end bent when i skided in the snow =[

So ive managed to get the car out and properly polished. Also finally got my alloys painted and I think they look amazing! But ill let you guys decide!

Got new rear shocks and some camber bolts on order. along with a new k&n air filter.

Love the plans for this! I also had a thought of sticking a nexus 7 in the centre of the dash, seems like the width of the vents etc is just perfect for it! Hardwire a usb charger to the ciggy lighter and you're golden!

Thanks guys. Its been a bit neglected recently. But I have today off, so plans are to get it cleaned. Get my new plates fitted, and a few extra bits. Ill see how well I get on with it
