TT has gone so i needed a cheap car for the next 2/3 months until i get my company car. Picked this up for £500, Focus 1.6 with 83,000 miles, just had 4 tyres and discs and pads all round a few hundred miles ago from the previous owner.
Done a couple of things to it,

Power steering pressure switch (old one gushed out with fluid in my first few miles of ownership FFS!) £43.21
New gear lever return spring (Gear stick wouldn't centralize) £9.02
Oil Filter £2
Oil 5w30, FREE
New number plates front and back, £7.44
New M.O.T, £35
So the Focus owes me £596 and its all up together!
Drives quite well, has a jvc cd player from about 1999, air con which works, electric windows etc.
Its great having a car that you don't have to worry about and just dump/leave anywhere.

Great cars, and that looks tidy.

Just about to scrap ours as its failed the MOT and my Mrs can't be arsed to have it fixed. Plus its now using as much oil as fuel lol

For the price of repairing it it's cheaper to just bin it and buy another one,
old Focus's are true throw away motoring, they made f*cking millions of the things.

Exactly what I'm gonna convince her to do mate. Paid 200 quid for it, with 7 months MOT. Probably get 100 quid for it scrap. Bargain motoring!

You need to do the belts and water pump next, they are an expensive problem if it goes but easily looked after.

Great car for the money I think.

If the belt snaps it snaps, I don't want to spend anymore money on it now.

Fixed the drivers electric window today, took the motor apart, cleaned it all up and it's working again.

Had two Foci' now and absolutely loved them. Only once let me down after a water pump failed straight after it was remapped but other than that, 3 years of trouble free ownership and i'd have one again. Handling is fantastic. Nice car :)

Yea they do handle quite well for what they are, proper long gear ratios aswell, 40mph in 1st gear lol.
