Willy driveshaft vs R19 driveshaft

Hi,

a few months ago i posted up that i was planning to retrofit the williams front track to my 1.8 and have so far assembled all the parts bar the longer driveshafts needed. I know the R19 uses the same wishbones and ARB as the willy so the question i have is....

...would R19 16V driveshafts fit my conversion?

I assume that they must be the same length (albeit thinner) than the willy ones? Bonus would be that theyre 50quid or so cheaper....

Appreciate any help..... :D

love to help you, but I just aint sure, you would be able to tell if you had a willy one and a r19 one on the bench, you could ring nick hill or something, good chance he might know

Thanks for that Ben - think ill probably go for them then.

I did email Paul at Infinicar about it and he said when he once fitted R19 driveshafts to a willy he had problems with some knocking (maybe tripod joints) but i think for the price its probably worth the risk......?

Mine fitted with R19 shafts and have been ok for last 30k miles, no knocking, no noises. Actually i saw them on the table side by side R19 and Willy, and i didnt notice any difference between those two...
