Will I notice the difference?

Thinking of getting rid of the 182 to free up some cash and swapping it for a 172 (ideally a 172 cup although normal ones are more numerous and easier to pick up).

I've got around £5k max. Will I notice the difference between a 182 and a normal 172? I guess if I get a 172 for about £4K I can always add aftermarket exhaust and air filter/induction kit.

I went from a trophy to 172. It just feels slower lower down the rev range. But I now like the toys I didn't have before.

Now my 172 is modded, it's definately quicker than my trophy was in a straight line. I just need the seats and suspension now!

you wont notice anything speed wise. but may do in ride qui/ stiffness as most 172 now could prob do with some new springs!
