I'm trying to get the faults diagnosed as cheaply as possible so that I can go back to the garage I bought it from and tell them I'm not happy / what work it needs doing (only bought 3 weeks ago!)
So far I have:
- Rattling sound from engine at low revs (strangely comes from top of the engine rather than near the belts, starting to think maybe it's not the dephaser, sound goes away when revving up to say 1000rpm but comes back when revs drop back down)
- Grind sound from engine bay when pressing / releasing accelerator (on closer inspection also when not in gear, and audible when engine started), suspected mounts?
Trying to find a nearby garage who can take a look at it for me, I'm based in Docklands (E14), don't really want to drive too far in the state this thing is in!
