Where can i get a CTS and stat tonight/tomorrow?

Hi all,

I've decided i want to do my stat and CTS over the weekend but just haven't had time to pick them up, so, where can i get one from today or tomorrow?

Already rang the stealers local to me and none of them have stock; Fred @ BTM is gonna look for me so ill buzz him in the morning, just wondered if there were any other Renault spares places local-ish to me in Stourbridge?

You could try a local motor factor such as Euro Car Parts or GSF? Local motor factors keep reasonable stock nowadays too and they tend to receive supplier deliveries on a Saturday if you order early enough.

Personally i would pay a bit more and use genuine renault parts (thats what i did), heard that some motor factor parts have a dodgy fit..

GSF can supply geniune manufactures parts sometimes now days, for example when I needed a coil pack for my old 172 they provided me with a valeo one which is what renault use.

GSF prices are

£21 for cts and £12 for thermostat,not much difference in price over genuine.

Renault prices

£24.04 for cts and £19.08 for the thermostat

I must warn you (as martin182 already has) not to fit an aftermarket thermostat under any circumstances. Firstly they do not fit, requiring the housing to be filed.

Secondly, the one I fitted caused the engine to start overheating after it sealed itself closed on track! It was purchased from GSF.

Just remembered that Specialised Renault in Nuneaton had another (gen) stat sitting on the shelf last week when I got mine. They also stock the type D.

Might be an option if Fred doesnt have one and your desperate. Renault bits are tricky to find at short notice, as none of the dealers keep a stock of anything much do they?
