Wheel fitment for MK3...please help

Hi,

Im trying to work out roughly what spacer i will be able to run before i fit my coilovers and new wheels but im pretty sure i working it out wrong so if anyone could help that would be awesome.

Websites indicate that MK3 (non sport) should run et between 35 and 45.

The wheels I have bought are 16x7J ET 37.

So would that mean in theory ET 37-7 = ET30 - 25mm Spacer = ET of 5?

I think thats probably completely wrong, could someone correct me and of course i know it kind of depends how low i will go/tyre size to what spacer i can run but this is just a rough guess so i can start to price up spacers

Yep that's correct above.

You minus the spacer from your current et.

oh, i thought i was way off

Hmm so in that case, its between 25 mm and 20 mm spacers. Do you reckon running ET5 would generate some scrubbing without stretched tyres?
