FF 182
Hi All,
So i took my 182 in this morning for wheel alignment as i had noticed my steering wheel not being quite straight (to the right/clockwise whilst driving down a straight road) by a small amount but i wanted to get this sorted before MOT time. When i went to collect my car and drove it down the road the steering wheel was now 'out' the other way (left/anticlockwise) by more than when i dropped it off first time.
I took it back and the guy asked if i had had it lowed so I said yeah but only by a small amount (eibachs) and he said that could be throwing it out and it could be the camber, I didn't really agree with him that camber could affect left to right but he seemed to think differently. Anyway he put it back on the ramps whilst i was there and trued it up again, so i goes down the road again and now this time the wheel is the other way (right/clockwise) but not quite as much as originally. So i went back and he spoke with his manager and he asked if he could have it for the afternoon he said sometimes we get this where we have to true it up, go out in it, and then tweak, trial and error style. This isn't a problem so i have left it with them. He also mentioned that he could make it so the wheel is straight but the tracking would be out, but i don't get this really at all.
Can anyone shed any light on this or explain to me what the man in the garage meant? Thanks
