Stop light on !!! Battery light on damm Alternator , Pt No 77 11 134 267 had arrived better crack on and fix the old girl... ( not tonight its Piss**g down here )

Just bought a new (second hand) mk2 phase 2 clio, and today water started coming in through the light by the sunroof.

I know the feeling mate, Iam a bricklayer and I spend countless hours polishing and waxing my car just for it to get covered in tree sap and night and then coated in dust and crap off site, its a serious pain in the ass :/

Left work.. Parked up at home looked at the rear end after taking the bin out.. and the exhaust is hanging down one side... Looked and the mount has come away from the silencer ... Pain... Try to get it sorted tomorrow

Left indicator doesn't click off on its own. Car doesn't start sometimes. Dunno why.

My 172 cup is hesitant high up the rev range. Feels down on power. Especially in 2nd gear. You can feel a slight cough when you floor it. Plugs? leads? s**t petrol?

A bit of information that might help someone with the same problem as me - I started with the cheapest parts and a new set of plugs and leads has solved this problem 100%. Pulls like a train again with not a single splutter. Yay!
Well I say cheap - the spark plugs are a bit pricier than I'm used to!

The A/C isn't working (although it's charged) and it cries a lot, I've got some new headlamp washer jets to fit.

When I bought it a few months ago it had-
STOP & Battery lights lit (alternator)
Limp home mode (thottle pedal)
missfiring (new plugs, leads & service)
Broken aerial, no stereo, parcel shelf or speakers
Alignment out, illegal tyres, oh and the exhaust heat shield was laying on the exhaust!

All those are now fixed and it is awesome fun!

Does the car blow a constant temperature no matter what setting you have the heater on?

If so check my project thread. It's a pretty easy fix using only a couple of torx sockets and a cable tie

Saw that and did the repair! The temp does change now but it doesn't go below ambient.

Balancing. Why do you have to go to 3 garages before your wheels are balanced!? Seriously considering buying a balancing machine so I can see what is so ruddy difficult.

I have one place I always go for alignment. They show you exactly what they can do and correct. My 182 was transformed once the wheels were pointing in the right direction!

Swear down the exhaust on my 200 is blowing slightly, even after being given the all clear from renault. Convinced it blows when you initially start the car, but then dissapears once the exhaust has warmed up. Renault say that that's the sound the exhaust makes? Not convinced though!

Wheel hop. Fitting new tyres so I can start tracking it properly. I know these cars do it but not this easily. Avoidable like making smooth gear changes to save the mounts and irrelevant on track as it only happens in 1st but annoying. Resisting the temptation to rip out The front suspension for new when it's still doing it's job 95% of the time for my needs. Must remind myself money on actual track days and tuition this year.

the MPG has dropped from ~45mpg on a 90min motorway journey to just under 40mpg and then about 35mpg from 40mpg on the 30min run to work. Car seems and performs fine though so not really sure what is up with it...... Driving style hasn't changed

Needs a damn good clean inside and out, needs cambelt doing, the steering is squeaking (no idea what that is), needs 2 front discs as they're warped, windscreen and side windows needs replacing as the previous owner cleaned it with something that I can only imagine contained 40 grit sandpaper, driver seat won't fold forwards.

Needs general rattles and squeaks looking at as well. Oh, and the tank is nearly empty.

Expensive, this owning a car thing. :weary:

It'll be the temperature. Mines done the exact same over the course of two weeks when it's noticeably gotten colder.

Standard air box with panel filter that was put in about 2 months ago. Was just a lot more noticeable than usual. 307 hdi btw.

Wiper linkage needs replacing again, only a couple of weeks since the last one was replaced. Not impressed but at least its being done under warranty. Coke stain on the drivers seat. Also missing a roof trim (the roof rack strip bit?) as I painted it and haven't got round to wet sanding and polishing it up yet. Oh and the ash tray base is missing as VX didn't put it back when they cleaned the car last time it was at the garage.

Nothing mechanical in the 3 months I've had it *touch wood*

Cosmetic wise the laquer is coming off in places on the rear bumper!, the bonnet and front bumper are badly stone chipped and it's annoying me!
