Dephaser gone so valves bent its a 2002 flame red 172 very good condition never wanted for anything but not got facilities to break it myself excellent interior new discs and brakes all round perfect gearbox , xenons well everything apart from engine upwards of a grand ti put right so going to cut my losses unfortunatly what do you think i should do with it and whats it worth guys ime gutted

Cheapest option is to buy a second hand engine and fit that.

I had the same problem with my old 172, need a new engine as to fix the one in there wasnt worth it. however I decided it wasnt worthing spending that much on the car when they are so cheap to buy a good example now.

Well you can sell the car as is and get circa £500
spend £500 and have your car up and running again that's probably worth £1500?
then even if you do get rid you're up.

Nick172cup has a 182 engine thats just had the belts done for £350 iirc.

Plenty of forum members up north that would fit it for a couple of crates of Stella .
