What is this part/where does it go?

New gearbox in and refurbed basically the whole front end of the car, refurbed calipers etc painted subframe and parts etc but stuck with this last bit everything else done. I have a feeling it was bolted to the box for some reason. Just can't fathom it. Ive just given it a lick of paint ready to go on.

Connects on the underside of the box one end goes on the smaller part of the dogbone and the other end bolts to the box itself via the two holes.
