also comes in handy used as a track cam

I'm using a brodit proclip with the inbuilt charger. Just ran it through the dash and piggybacked off the cig lighter.

not sure i actually get what that is?
The brodit proclip is a specific setup that you get based on what car and what phone you have.

The clip is based on the car
The holder is based on the phone.

You can get the holders with no charger, a cigarette lighter style one or with bare wires that you can hardwire into your car.

Brodit active powered holder for the phone i have at the time plus a proclip to mount it .

always had them , solid reliable and does not mean your phone runs flat .

100% spot on

yes , which means if you change phones you only change the front part .

i have them in all my cars and having had various phone kits for over 20 years this is the best soloution ,

I spent lots of time and money finding the right holder over the years and finally got this which is brilliant, had it 2 years and still going strong.

Going to give this a try myself. Though i've bought the vent mounted version that is £5.99. I've also ordered the brodit pro clip as i hate using suction mounts.

Idea is that i'll fix the brodit clip in place and then remove the vent mounting clips on the back of the phone holded and screw in to the brodit clip.

Always used Brodit phone holders, but they don't make one for the Redmi Note 3, and the universal ones look to big and chunky.

The phone or the holder?
The phone isn't a copy of anything, design my be similar, but then pretty much all phones are similar in design.

I've got one of those Brodit Proclip things as well. Only issue is that it blocks a vent. It's a cracking mount though, although I noticed yesterday it had pulled half my centre console clips off on one side!

I've got one of these too (https://www.anker.com/products/A2312011). Charges almost like it's on a wall plug although now it's a bit older, it's perfect considering I use my phone as a sat nav. I've got iPods plugged in, I've had a Nintendo DS charged from it, all sorts, always been spot on.

I highly recommend Anker stuff - bit more expensive but definitely worth it. I've got their USB cables, car chargers, portable batteries, wall plugs... never let me down.

Kenu Airframe+, Anker charger, Google Maps and TomTom Speed Camera app = Perfect.
