What do you all think

  Mr2 Roadster

Have my MOT on Sat.

Am taking the decat off and replacing it will my Broken Cat. I have taken all of the middle out of the cat so it is in effect a straight through and the MOT bloke wont notice that!

So will my car be off on the emissions?

I have a cone filter on it at the moment will it run a little lean with this on therefore reducing the emmisions or will it be the same as if I put the standard air box on...

What do people think is best.

Has anyone else passed with a decat on?

My Car is an R reg 1.8 RSi.

Thanks...

Dont have this problem.

Took my car in for an MOT and told my mate thats there was no cat on it. "I wont bother with an emissions test then"

hehe!

& tbh, it might pass. I had my emissions checked when it was on a diagnostics machine and iirc (after they fixed the problem) it wouldve passed the MOT with my de-cat on.

Only just though, but that is on a valver, an RSi should be a bit easier.

will probably fail but if you have a really clean running engine there is a slight chance it would scrape through.your car would probably have to pass stricter emissions limits than toms with yours being newer.

I recon it will fail, dont matter that the tester can see inside the cat, the emission testing machine makes the pass/fail decision.

I do MOT testing and most of the renaults I have done with fooked cats have failed.

But hope it does pass;)

chances are it will fail, but remember there is no visual check for a cat, or the condition of a cat, just the emissions produced from the exhaust

Ummm... Hope it passes, it is running well, will give it a blast before hand to clean it out!
