Water Pump Advice

  200 FF Storm Grey
My water pump is whining these past few days, obviously it's been very cold.

Is it common for these to fail? Will I be daft not to change it? Belts were changed only 12k ago so it's a long time until they'll be done again.

Also are they driven by the cambelt or aux belt?

It's a 55 plate 182 (cup packs)

Thanks for any advice

doubt it's the water pump. Very unusual failure indeed. More likely something to do the the belt, tensioner, idler, or possibly the PAS pump which is prone to dying.
