Wales/Merthyr Meet 11th March Pictures/Banter thread.

So today was the day.

It started off by us all meeting in Merthyr for 11 with members from Cliosport.net, clio197.net and meganesport.net in attendance.

Once everyone had arrived (even Hodgins) we set on our way up the mountains. The weather was superb with pure sun and a solid 15 deg c. Once at the top we all stopped in a car park with the best view in town. We then moved to a larger car park as we were kind of blocking it up lol. So we moved up to a larger car park and some panning shots were taken.

We stayed there and had a long chat, looked at the cars whilst a few members did some runs of the famous Black mountain road.

Once everyone had finished with their fun, we made our way back down the mountain and back to Merthyr for a final group shot.

It was a great day and I would like to thank everyone that attended to make it a great meet, clios or not. I would also like to thank clio197 and meganesport for making the day even better and I hope we can continue to arrange large meets like this one.

My car of the meet was Sharkys Trophy, and a genuinely nice guy.

was a very good meet, nice to meet a lot of you and have a quick chat. i especially loved the red r26, the round of that was immense!! and the views from the back mountains were the out of this world!!!

i was told to fill up, i probably used around 10-20 quid of petrol, near enough nothing.

I apologise if I didn't introduce myself. There were so many people and not knowing who was from CS and who was from Clio197 didn't help lol. Glad you both enjoyed.

Yeah I enjoyed - was good fun going over the mountain - wish I'd gone for another go but my tyres will thank me for it! Should close that place off once a year for a giant time trial over the mountain - would be ace!

The motorbikers today were more mental than usual. That one guys bike was incredibly loud when he overtook us, his exhaust was about a foot from my ear

Thank you guys for coming along. Was really good to see the three clubs together. Glad that the day went without fault. As Scott said, if you haven't allready then join the South Wales Renault Sport Facebook Page, make it a little easier for future ones to come! I have e-mailed PFC and am waiting on a reply. Will post when I have been replied to!

Again many thanks to everyone that came! Looking forward to seeing everyones pictures!

First of all, thanks to Craig_B for organising this joint meet. Additionally, thanks also to ClioSport, Clio197 and MeganeSport and those folks that came along today. It's a shame that none of the RS Twingo guys came along but it didn't detract from what was a very enjoyable day.

It was good to finally meet the people behind the usernames and (despite not really knowing anyone) I was made very welcome. Scott, thanks for the kind words regarding my Trophy and it was great to meet you and see your stunning car. Apologies for not mentioning you all by name but... well... I'm getting on a bit in years... but nevertheless I had a great time chatting and sharing the awesome Welsh roads with you today. It was also a pleasure to be able to give a couple of rides to Tim and Josh and thanks for the company and Kyly... see, it wasn't so bad?!

Here's a large-ish batch of photos from earlier. Some of them didn't turn out so well but, if I'm being honest, I was more interested in the driving and meeting folk today.

Thanks mate. Yes, it's a bit louder since the ITB's went on but that sound is addictive! I've got to say that I've never been a massive fan of the Cooper in the past but they have grown on me over time and your looked great in the sun today. It was good to see you both.

Some lovely photos and no it wasnt so bad but iwill not be doing the black mountain again! I saw a sign saying 'nant ddu' thought 'oh never heard of this place after finally thinking about it and translating it my face dropped and i actually swore! was not impressed although i knew what was coming was nice chatting to you all i tried saying hello to everyone... p.s. VERY nice car sharky!!
