I can see fly wheel movement, wonder if for some reason my fly wheel is bending and so the fingers are not going down enough...
The master cylinder seems to be fine as its pushing the slave a fair bit

Couple of questions... Allan-

does your our crank pulley move in And out like your flywheel? Because if it does, it leads me to my next question, did you put the thrust washers in your engine? Lol silly one I know but I can't see a billet flywheel being bent out Of shape like that.

Next question, what size master cylinder do you have and how have you connected it to the slave? Copper pipes?

Next question, what hole did you go in with that camera lol?

Crank movement was next on my list to check after seeing the movement. Will try and get over tomorrow to check.
has been running for 10k since the engine was built and 1000 ish with the box when it slowly stopped releasing over about 10 miles. The pipe work and master cylinder is from a golf mk4 tdi along with the box and shafts all from 1 car
and I went in via the starter hole. Take the starter out then bolted it back up with no starter on

got any pictures of how youve mounted the master cylinder?
also in your line from the master to the slave did you have a circular bit that the fluid goes in and out of inline?
you clutch moves a lot smother and faster then mine

ive just spaced my slave out about 6mm and now it looks similar to yours.
sort this crank seal out now then see if its made a diffrence

What's the code on your gearbox Jaff? You sure it's not an 02q?

They suppose to have a deeper bell housing....

ive been assured it an 02m by scoff but im not 100% sure tbh. he said as long as it has 6 gears and the inspection hole then its an 02M.

me personally, im not convinced but the clutch slave has been spaced out (successfully i think) so shouldnt cause an issue.

issue i have now is the casing is cracked...

Pulled the engine last night, changed the clutch cover and still no change (its had a new cover, slave and friction plate now).
Tried to get some pics of the master for you Jaff but couldn't get into the foot well due to crap in the way.
Checked the crank too and 0 movement on that, it didn't budge even 1mm

1mm in crank movement terms would be a massive amount of movement.

Mo worries mate, I bought a pedal box now anyway was just curious how you had done it

OK changed out the clutch cover for a luk standard one (the older version) and made a quick video

I think the movement in what looked like the fly wheel was actually the gearbox moving (added more bolts to hold it on) and you can see its not moving now.

Im going to try using a different clutch plate next and see if that works

that movment!!!!

mine doesnt move near as much :(

The only thing i can think of is that your master isn't making enough pressure or that your pipe is budging and your losing pressure between the master and slave ? (assuming its bled up correctly)

What's cracked on your box and where has it cracked?
The pipe on mine is solid till the box end and it has about 30cm of rubber flexy hose then into the bleeder block with about 3 inches of solid pipe.
Looks similar to this but was from a golf mk4

Mines the same mate. Slave-bleeder "t" block-solid pipe (60mm)-flexi hose (2500mm)-solid pipe-master cylinder.

i might adjust the MC to see if it makes a difference.

the crack is on the box housing mate

Been busy and forgot to update this, but found my problem was my clutch cover.
The actual fingers were bent!
I got a brand new one and measured from at flat surface and found they were about 3mm shorter on the original and after installing the new cover and bleeding up it appears to release correctly.

I have also had to add an additional bolt on the gear box to adapter plate as it was managing to push them apart which is probably why my clutch failed in the first place.
