V6 Manual Steering Rack

Has anyone ever fitted a Manual Steering Rack to a MK I V6? Or does anyone know any information about doing this? A friend of mine wants to do this to his V6.

I don't think ahuone sdone it it would e a good idea a bit more Hp and the front lighter than the 172 which some p[eople have manul racked in the past.
