Using hammerite on plastics. Can i?

Hi.

just painted up my bullets, ready to mask off and paint the numbers on the side.

I want them the same colour as my calipers (gold), can i use the hammerite smooth paint that i previously used?

or should i nip to the paint shop?

Cheers chaps

its horrible to use mate i ruined one of my wheel dimands by doing that lol

is it from a tin or a spray can? i think Hammerite's cellulose based (which will attack some plastics) but you can sometimes use cellulose spray paints on plastics without trouble, providing you build up the finish with light coats. could test the back of the badges to see if there's any reaction

aye - brushing it on can cause probs (if it's going to) due to the thickness of the application

try looking at some of the acrylic based hobby spray paints that you can buy in DIY/arts&crafts/model shops, etc
