underdrive pulleys

ok basically ben the circular pulley that is connected to the accessories on the engine such as the power steering, air conditioning, alternator etc is made smaller thus slightly underpowering these accessories however at the same time releasing some strain on the engine thus releasin more power...

would be interested to know if K-Tec and Hillpower will be developing any of these for clios, especially mine (1.4 16v 2003)

  williams and trophy

yeah iv been told to expect gains of 5-7 bhp from doing all the pulleys on mine. if lighter too thatll also help

Nick,

What about swaping the pullys for lighter alloy ones, but keeping the same sizes. Surely this would help with pick-up and may even realese a few bhp?

They dont weigh a huge amount alloy would be better but putting in a new set of plugs and H.T. leads would probably give as much power. And cheaper.

If you really worry that much about pullies then next time you go quarter miling just take the belt off entirely and do without the alternator and power steering!
