tyre pressure

  172 cup
since i bought my clio cup i have had the tyre pressures set at 30 psi because i had the same size tyres on my mk2 golf, ive just found out they should be 40psi fronts and 32 rears

will this make a large difference to the handling?
when i put the correct pressure in will i be making it twitcier in the wet?

just wandering what other people had found
cheers

40 is too much
I think correct pressures are 33 front, 31 rear (assuming 182=Cup in terms of pressures).
I tend to run a bit lower, 31 front, 28 rear. Find it less twitchy.

Those pressure were from a Renault document for a Cup which stated those pressures on the motorway I don't agree with it though.
