TV tuner issue

Got a Samsung UA46D7000LJ tv from Hong Kong but it can't tune any channels, it just comes up with weak or no signal

Signal is fine as my other TV works and all Samsung said to do was a factory reset which made no difference

Found the service menu and can see the tuner is set to sec_cn, tried changing this but still can't get anything.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Have you tried a factory reset?

Full factory reset
1. Press menu button on remote
2. Access system menu
3. Scroll down to reset
4. Enter 4 zero`s
5. Press red/green/yellow/blue buttons
6. TV will now go into search mode to scan for stations
7. You have now done a full factory reset

(just a guess here) but don't some tuners only work in certain countries and others in others etc.. ?

i would hazard a guess at the tuner being the wrong region, or perhaps the TV's firmware is.

Will be the wrong tuner. American TV's do not work over here either as there band of frequency is different

Ah that sucks tuner was set to sec_cm. Went through all the tuner options in the hidden service menu and still nothing so wrong hardware makes sense.

Got an old freebox box but it doesn't have hdmi so will need to get another.

Another options is freeway as should have a communal dish, are they any good?

I'd just buy a cheap Freeview HD box for £50
