touchmouse thingy isnt working properly on laptop

the mouse pad thing when you move your finger along it the cursor moves but then jumps back on the screen, also when im typing after a few words the cursor somehow jumps back mid sentance and carrys on typing there.

any ideas what wrong? hoping its not a virus

none that was visual, but just give it a wipe and seems ok now.

computers hate me i think, they never do what i want them to do!
