throttle cable

  throttle bodied mk2 172
how much is to fit throttle cable which used in mk1 172 to fit on mk2 172.pls i need information for this

  172 cup'd extreme
You need pedal, cable, Throttle body, TPS, ICV from the mk1 172 also you will need the ECU from the mk1 172

Theres apparently a coversion pack that Renault sell so you can do this cheaply but I've never found the part numbers so I think its just a false rumour. Nick Hill was looking at it might be worth giving him a ring.
The other ottion is a stand alone ECU. with a Mk1 throttle body etc.

i think the looms are completely different and the pedal box, theres custom bits required

I think jons saying a big swop of bits, swop the ECU then wire the phase 1 ECU up and fiddle the wiring etc
Another idea would be to remove the UCH and swop all the wiring for a phase 1 wiring and ECU you'll loss the crusie and a few other bits but the phase 1 is much easier to fix. there no UCH to break and fail.

its not as simple as just swapping bits

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..
the painful bit is your looking at between 1-2k for this conversion (unless you can do it yourself), the lower cost uses the stock ecu, nearer 2k uses omex or similar.

having had several quotes its a fair amount considering your not getting any more power for your £, just instant throttle reponse.

If it's any consolation the throttle respones with the GepN ECU is improved. One of the thing the map does is open the throttle much quicker.

It's really not as bad as the tap room specialists on here make it out to be. In fact the Clio has always been praised for it's razor sharp throttle response from the 172 ph-ugly to the 182.

yeah i know, i cant tell any difference on the newer 172's that ive driven. Not really sure what all the fuss is about.

All i know is that my car's off to Rentech next week because my throttle cable outer has rusted causing the cable to stick at 2000 revs lol :(
