Thanks for reading through it mate. I appreciate it takes some time and is full of waffle in places! All being well the new updates aren't too far away now :)

Yeah, the Vee was special but it wasn't cheap! But it was definitely worth it :)

Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6]

Cheers Ash. Yep, I'll be bringing the Trophy along to Llandow. And, all being well, I'll be pootling around at a nice steady pace. As well as taking photographs on the day I'm also the mobile chicane for the day ;)

Disclaimer: Assuming the car is mapped, back and run in nicely :)

Sounds good mate i'll be there taking photo's and driving. It will be nice to see the trophy!

Am I free to get the transport arranged mate? Any luck with the rad? @Chi may be able to transport it for me (or @Chip-mk1 ).

I am happy to do it, but sadly this weekend am out at Donno so wont get a chance, its a shame Paul wasnt able to accept it when I offered a while ago, as its not that often I get time free :(

Good stuff :) What are you taking round mate? The Alfa V6? Or do you still have your Clio?

No worries mate. Chi has kindly offered to take it up for me during the week so all is good. Again, thanks for the offer all the same; very kind of you.

Ive got to say she's a beautiful machine :)
Haha! Thanks mate. She looks like she could do with a bit of a polish and a wax but that's of secondary importance for the time being. I just want to drive the nuts off it!

seems to be kissing barrons car!

Resting nicley on his bumper is what you mean lol
Thought it was finished for a minute when I saw the pic !
Has the rad been changed yet ?
Yeah, she seems to be getting a bit fruity with Barron's car... Mind you, I thought my handbrake cable was on the way out... (just kidding by the way).

Fancy an opentrack day at bedford in november as a season closer with it? (loads of runoff if you havent been before)

17th November a few of us are thinking of doing, only 99 quid for the day!

There'll be other opportunities mate. And I don't think it will be chewing up and spitting out M3's quite like your turbo'd Clio! But it should be fun, and that's what it's all about. :)

That is seriously, seriously tempting and I would normally jump at the opportunity; especially as I've not done Bedford before. The bad news is that I won't be able to make it as there are plans in place for a trip to see family overseas and it clashes :( It will happen though. At some point!

 Hahaha! All I can say is thanks for taking the time to read through it. It's definitely a bit of a slog but it's been kinda fun keeping this thread going.

4 years off the road?! Sod that... even I'd struggle with that. Unless I had a Clio V6 whilst I was waiting :)

July 2014 - (Further) Update

Wednesday 16-Jul-2014 and time to find a new home for the pink shed...

So, things took another step forward today thanks to the combined efforts of @Fred@BTM, @Chi and @RSTuning. Fred for a cracking engine and gearbox build (and last spanner check), RS Tuning for taking in my car at short notice and Chi for being a bl00dy legend. In fact, I can't thank Chi enough for kindly offering his time and trailer to ship my car from Birmingham to Leeds with only a day or so notice. Thanks mate, I am very grateful and in your debt! :)

Thanks to Chi for the update photos as well (I might have Photoshopped them a bit).

The pink shed bids a fond farewell to BTM Performance. Fred, out of shot, was very sad to see it leave and offered his goodbyes with a two-fingered salute. At least I think that was what he was doing...

The shed's new home until Paul and the team at RS Tuning have chance to run it in and then map it. Exciting times indeed. :)

It might be a short while until it's done due to Paul's workload and schedule, but I thank them all the same for taking the car in and holding it for me in the meantime. Thanks guys.

Oh mate that's great news and lovely to see it at Paul's.

Chi is a great chap and so very kind.

Well done mate, I wouldn't be able to sleep. :)

Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6]

What rad did you go with ?
For now it's back to the previous (Polo) rad. The alternative, unfortunately, wasn't suitable in this case. I will simply get a decent alloy rad bought/fabricated once I've got it back. It will be fine whilst being run in and for mapping. The only real problems come if it's stood running for a period of time without the airflow. The temperature rises and the fans are constantly on. No biggie :)

Must admit aside from the last 3 or 4 pages the previous 20 were f**king dull lol.
Yeah - fair point mate! As for the Focus ST... I didn't think they were too bad? Mind you, my experience of them is somewhat limited. I think I saw one once. It was a Thursday. :)

Hahaha! Thanks mate. There are some good folks on here and their offers of help have been welcomed and appreciated. It's great to see and I hope that I can return those favours in the future.

Sleep? What's that?! As it turns out the time should fly by as I'm real busy with work at the moment but - yes - I'm excited. Fingers crossed for a hassle- and problem-free mapping. I know it's in (has been in) good hands.

Great news. I await this handing me my arse on a plate at Llandow ;)
Oli, I don't think you need worry mate. I'll be nursing it round most likely and, however good the car may be, it doesn't mean the guy behind the wheel is equally as capable! :)

Exciting times! Can't wait for further updates :)
Cheers mate :)

I wasn't quite sure... :p I did actually have one on hire for a few days when I went over to work in Germany of all places. It was an alternative to a Golf GTTDI and I really liked the ST. Comfy and swift progress along the autobahns with minimal fuss and drama :)

Absolutely mate - I'd be up for that. Estimated date for completion?!?!!? :)

That sums the focus up tbh. Coupled with being an outstanding family car.

sore subject lol. I'm hoping to have it in the road for my 25th in December but it should be ready before that. So then it all depends on insurance. It drops £300 once I turn 25 lol.

Keep eps an eye on my project for completion but I'm sure we could arrange something when it's done. I owe matt w a look at it too lol

Yes mate, I'll definitely keep an eye on your project thread. I wouldn't mind a look at yours to be honest (ooer). Fingers crossed for a December, or earlier, completion...

You realise I now own a share in this car lol.
Next day I took the trailer to Scotland didn't get back till 0230 I was shattered. Nearly there although I see Paul is elsewhere according to Facebook...

This thread needs a title change given the return of the RWD... Not long now, Andy.

Hugely looking forward to reading about your Highlands trip and you re-acquainting yourself with a long lost love.

Yeah, he's a very nice man. A very, very nice man. :)

Passenger lap? Yes, no problem mate. I can't guarantee a white-knuckle lap of immense speed and perfect lines... but I'll try my best to get you round in one piece :)

You'd just be annoyed when I was driving it by January ;)
Hahaha! No pressure Jaff.

Aw mate, sounds like a loooooong day! Especially after running around for me the day before. Many thanks for helping me out. Obviously don't be shy to let me know how much I owe you... :) How much to buy-out your share of my car?! LOL!

Paul is currently mapping in Slovenia I believe. I think he's due back in a few days. I don't mind waiting a little longer :)

Thanks Tim. I'm not sure if I can change the thread title myself or if I have to get a moderator to do it... I suspect the latter. Ah yes, the Highlands trip. I can't wait. It's a shame we couldn't have a few more people along as we've got a good bunch of people going and a lovely place to stay. So much so, it's debatable as to whether or not we'll actually leave the house...
