the case of the disappearing brake pad...

One of my brake pads decided to vanish by itself yesterday. Looks like the cotter retainer thing fell off and the pad dropped out...
Have ordered replacement bits, but is there anything that could stop this happening? Superglue the fecker in?
Suddenly having no brakes not recommended...

Yeah, OS rear...the pad next to the piston...

check the carrier isn't bent, had this a couple of times and it lets the pad drop out.

I think these are like my gtt ones, with the sliding lock with pin and the springs?

My slider was rusted, worn pitted and the spring had no life in them, no sooner had I put the pads in I could wiggle them back out effortlessly..

I got a new fitting kit, problem solved.
