The Cambelt Price

  Clio Sport 172
I thought I would ring renault today as my mate is on holiday..... I think I will just wait for him to get back

Mumfords of Plymouth have quoted me £621 inc VAT for a cambelt and aux belt. That seems rather large considering most of you arer paying from £350-450. I have no idea where they got that figure from?

Nope is done with the engine in easily enough, its just a bit fiddly in parts. Bumper off and drivers headlight out for access is as far as you need go.

  Renault Clio 172 Cup
Just had my cam/Aux belt done on my 172 cup at Fairwater Garage Taunton, they are a renault specialist. I payed: £150 for cambelt kit inc Vat, about £20 for Aux belt and some seals, took 3 3/4hrs £42hr labour all in just under £370. Takes a little longer if you have aircon. It's the second time I've been to this garage and I'm happy with the service they give.:)

That is a main dealer figure as it's got a very high labour time.

Go to Carlton Garage in Exmouth, Alex (ClarkieV6) is a member on here owns and runs it. They will do the belt change and the service for a lot less than your quote for the belt alone.

Would it be cheaper if i bought a cambelt replacing full kit from Yozzasport... and asked an independent garage to fit it for me? Or is it the question of whether they will fit it in the first place coz they're a bit tight?
