temporary cat?

  VX220 Turbo
I was wondering if anyone knew if this was a solution to save me replacing my whole exhaust system come MOT time....

if i took two pipes out of my two tailpipes and fed them into the stock cat then have another small pipe out of that for the tester to stick the probe into.

i'd have all the pipes done properly so that they went back under the car therefore not sticking out and getting hot etc.

anyone know if this would work and pass the test?

Cats need to get VERY hot to work, placing the cat there would be pointless.

Im assuming you have an all in one exhaust and not simply a decat.

i used to have a decat but in order to get the exhaust to sit high enough so as not to catch on the floor getting into my driveway I had a pipe going from the manifold all the way to the back end where it splits for the two back boxes.
