Swindon area, good garage for 182 service?

Folks,

Has anyone had their car serviced at a local Renault garage (Swindon, Chippenham etc) or know a good local'ish garage who has RS experience? any good/bad stories?

My 182 first service is due, been quoted about £230 Swindon and £210 Chippenham but will reduce if i use my own oil.

I've used Fish Bros (Ren dealer) in Swindon and they seemed ok. Not too pricey either.

Otherwise, before, when I had my 1.2 I used to use Mike Allen services by the train station. They always seemed pretty good. Smaller outfit, but "Renault Specialists". Bizzarely thought they were more expensive than the dealer for a 36k service on the 172 :S

yes, would struggle to get down to Portsmouth so looking for somewhere a bit closer (within 30 mins). cheers.

i used fish brothers renault swindon they told me £225 for first service on the 182 , when i went to pay for it they said it was £205 and they gave me a bottle of oil as well . no problems with them westwood chippenham are good as well .

I'd agree with the wash comment after experiencing it first hand. Car was pretty filthy tbh, and they made a real half-assed job of washing it - still had dirty streaks down the doors and things, plus it was all swirly next time I washed it properly

Thats a pretty minor thing though, I think I'll just have to ask them not to wash it if goes there again, or make sure it's clean first so they don't feel the need. Other than that I've found them to be pretty good.

lol @ "stroppy moos". Never noticed it myself.

edit: And they did a price match with Platinum in Bath for me as Platinum was cheaper (but a long way for me to go)

I'd agree i've never had any problems with fish bros. Just tell them NOT TO WASH THE CAR or they'll put a load of swirl marks in the paint. If you want to avoid the stroppy moo's there's a lad called mark in service who's always been helpful when i've been down there.
